A few weeks ago, i noticed my ear pop, and then I couldn’t really hear out of my left ear. A little concerned, I decided to book am emergency appointment for Wednesday, which was the quickest they could fit me in. Anyway, Wednesday rolled around, so I got ready, grabbed my cane., and headed for the Doctors surgery.
Now outside of my house, there’s these two weird driveway things. The one nearest to me has a pavement crossing over it, and the other one doesn’t, and just has two tacktile crossing stations at each opposite ends.
Now, it’s two tacktile crossing stations are fairly far away from each other, and I generally get confused with them because of this. I usually manage it, but today wasn’t one of those days.
I put my cane on the tacktile pavement, and when I was eventually ready to cross, started crossing the road. The only thing is, this paving thing is extremely close to the main road. I got to the middle alright, but then it all went very wrong.
It turns out that I had ended up in the middle of the main road, and I was no where near the driveway thing I was trying to cross. Luckily a very nice and helpful woman came to my aid. She asked if I was ok? and said that she would also help me cross the road so I wasn’t in the middle of the main road.
There was one problem, I had ended up on the other end of the road, and not on the side I needed to be. Then because I looked all confused, another nice woman asked me, are you ok?, and where am I wanting to go?. I explained the Doctors, she then told me I was on the wrong side of the road, and I was outside the Chiropodist, and I needed to be on the other side of the road. She asked would I like her to help me cross, and I gladly accepted. Once she had helped me across the road, I said thank you, and I was now on my way to the Doctors.
This could have gone extremely wrong without the help of amazingly friendly people.
In case you are wondering, I got a diagnosis of an Ear infection.
