Filling My Hole With Cake | Cake’ole Bradford

A couple of weeks ago, both me and Jamie went to Cake’ole Bradford to check out some of their delicious Cakes, and after having a fantastic time stuffing our Faces full of all the delicious Food & Drink, I thought that I would tell you all about it.

What is Cake’ole Bradford?

Cake’ole Bradford, is a Cafe that serves a wide range of delicious Food & Drink, including Breakfast, Lunch, Cakes, Soft Drinks, Milkshakes, Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, and even Afternoon Tea in the heart of Bradford.

What happened when I visited Cake’ole Bradford.

Once we had arrived in Bradford, and had wandered around for a little while, we eventually headed to Cake’ole Bradford, which is located in between Starbucks and the Alhambra Bradford on  Centenary Square in Bradford City Centre.

Then once we had walked into the very modern looking and relaxed feeling Cafe, we found ourselves a really nice Table in front of a massive Window and started to chat about what we wanted to eat. Then after a couple of minutes of us both chatting, a really nice woman came over, said hi, and brought us one of their menus over.

Then after we had been looking at the menu for a couple of minutes, Jamie went up to the Counter to place our order. He also chose a couple of Cakes for us both to try which change from day to day so don’t appear on the menu.

Then once he had come back, we just sat and chatted for a couple of minutes before one of the really nice staff members  started to bring us our Food over.

What I had to eat and drink at Cake’ole Bradford.

A large slice of bright blue Cake next to a pile of creamy white ice cream covered in some golden yellow sauce and some pieces of grated chocolate on a small circular white plate on a light wooden table, on a white background.

The first thing that I had to eat and drink was their Blue Raspberry Cake, Blue Raspberry Cake served with Vanilla Ice Cream, Toffee Sauce and grated Chocolate.

This was absolutely delicious, as it was really light and airy whilst still having a little bit of a bite to it, and unlike most of the other Raspberry Cakes that i’ve tried in the past, was also bursting with flavour instead of just having a hint of something Berry to it. I also really liked it’s Icing, as it was really thick and creamy without taking away from the lightness of the Cake. Another thing that I really liked was the Ice Cream that came with it, as it was really thick and creamy and was coated in a layer of Sauce and Grated Chocolate that created a really nice added bit of crunch to the soft and smooth Ice Cream.

A short rectangular clear glass jar full of some creamy white milk, some creamy white cream and a black paper straw on a small circular white plate on a light wooden table, on a white background.

The next thing that I had to eat and drink was their Black Forest Twisted Milkshake, Milk served with Black Forest Syrup, Whipped Cream and Chocolate Sprinkles.

I was a little bit apprehensive about this as I absolutely love anything Black Forest, but whenever I see that somewhere has it on the Menu it usually means that I end up with something that only contains about a Teaspoon worth of Syrup. Luckily though this was absolutely drenched in Syrup and pretty much tasted like I had just bitten into a slice of Black Forest Gateau. I also really liked that it was absolutely loaded with Cream, both in the Glass and on top of the Milkshake, and that it had been decorated with lots of little Chocolate Sprinkles.

A large piece of dark Brown cake next to a pile of creamy white ice cream covered in some golden yellow sauce and some pieces of grated chocolate on a small circular white plate on a light wooden table, on a white background.

The next thing that I had to eat and drink was their Mocha Cake, Mocha Cake served with Vanilla Ice Cream, Toffee Sauce and Grated Chocolate.

I really liked this, as it was incredibly light and airy whilst still having a little bit of a bite to it. Unfortunately though it wasn’t as full of flavour as the Blue Raspberry Cake was, as it was essentially just a Chocolate Cake with some Coffee flavoured Buttercream in the middle of it. I also really liked the Ice Cream that came with it, as it was incredibly thick and creamy and was coated in a layer of Sauce and Grated Chocolate that added a really nice bit of added crunch to the soft and smooth Ice Cream.

A short rectangular clear glass jar full of some creamy white milk, some creamy white cream, some golden caramel sauce, and a black paper straw with some salt around it’s rim on a small circular white plate on a light wooden table, on a white background.

The last and final thing that I had to eat and drink was their Salted Caramel Twisted Milkshake, Milk served with Caramel Sauce, Whipped Cream, Grated Chocolate and a Salt rim.

This was absolutely delicious, as not only was it incredibly sweet and creamy, but the bottom of the Glass and it’s rim had been coated in a layer of Salt that added a nice bit of sourness that cut through all of the sweetness from the Caramel Sauce perfectly. I also really liked that it was absolutely loaded with tons of Cream, both in the Glass and on top of the Milkshake, and that it had been decorated with lots of little Chocolate Sprinkles.

Then once we had finally finished stuffing our Faces full of all of the delicious Food & Drink, we just sat and chatted for a couple of minutes before we decided that it was time to head off. So we said our thank you’s and goodbye’s to the really nice staff member that we had met throughout our meal, and headed off back into Bradford to do a little bit of Shopping.

I had a fantastic time checking out all of the delicious Food & Drink at Cake’ole Bradford, and if you’re looking for a great place to relax with a few friends whilst having something to eat, I highly recommend that you check them out.

  1. My mouth was watering so bad looking at those pictures. The blueberry cake….oh my god. I know the clue is kinda in the title, but I wouldn’t have actually expected the cake to be THAT blue. Wow. If ever I am in Bradford, I will give that place a shot!!! xX

  2. I’m usually more of a savoury girl and tend to choose a starter over a dessert, but I have to say – that blue raspberry cake looks amazing! My husband works up in Bradford sometimes so I’ll tell him to check out the cafe next time!
