At the beginning of the year, I always like to set myself a couple of little goals. Nothing too big, just a few things that I would like to achieve throughout the year, and I thought that I would tell you the five things that I would like to achieve in 2019 and whether or not I managed to achieve 2018’s goals.
The reason that I call them goals and not resolutions, is because if I set myself a New Years resolution, come the 3rd of January, I will have totally given up on whatever it was that I was trying to achieve.
Anyway, that’s enough of me rambling, here’s five things that I would like to achieve in 2019.
1. See more live performances.
I already know that I will achieve this, as i’ve booked tickets to see Spice Girls perform live in Manchester in June, but I would love to see much more, including some interesting and thought provoking Plays, some catchy Musicals that I can sing-along to, and some hilarious side splitting funny Stand Up Comedy.
2. Fix my very weird Sleeping pattern.
I’ve always had somewhat of a very weird sleeping pattern, and with me writing a Blog I can often be up til 2 or 3am finishing off a Post. But I would love to actually go to Bed and wake up at a reasonable hour instead of feeling groggy for most of the day and then finding a ton of Energy at about 8pm, which is when I really should be winding down.
3. Become a little bit more independent.
Lately i’ve noticed that i’ve become a little bit too reliant on the people around me, I mean I used to spend the entire day Shopping by myself, and nowadays I won’t even go to the Barbers up the street on my own. So I would like to do a few more things by myself, like meeting Jamie in a Shop or Cafe rather than just meeting him at the Bus Stop.
4. Create some kind of a Skincare routine.
With me reviewing so many different products on a monthly basis, I don’t tend to stick with one product for that long. This often means that my Skin can look fabulously glowing one week, and incredibly dull and dry the next. But I would love to have a selection of products that I can fall back on and instantly know that they will make my Skin look and feel the best that it possibly can.
5. Meditate more.
I find that Meditating can make me feel really grounded and a lot less stressed, but I have to be in a place that’s totally silent to do it, and unfortunately in my House silent is like a Unicorn, a mythical Creature that no one has ever seen before. So I would love to be able to find a space that allows me to just shut off, relax and have a couple of moments of peacefulness.
There you go, that’s the five things that I would like to achieve in 2019, but did I manage to achieve 2018’s goals?
Well, yes and no. I managed to achieve three out of five of them, which I don’t think is that bad.
1. Eat more healthily.
So I didn’t really manage to achieve this one. I mean, yes I managed to add more Vegetables into my Diet and also managed to drink more Water throughout the day, but I still couldn’t stop myself from eating all of my favourite, of course unhealthy foods, like Pizza, Chocolate and Ice Cream.
2. Read at least two Books a month.
I definitely managed to achieved this one, as I usually blow through Books really quickly, and managed to read two or three a month depending on whether I could sleep or not.
3. Be less stressed.
Ok, so I kind of managed to achieve this one, as there were times where I was really stressed about something, and times when I managed to not let certain things get to me so much, but I found that taking a moment or two to just relax and realise what I was so stressed about was a massive help.
4. Try not to spend as much money.
I managed to achieve this one for most of the year, but as I went to see The Addams Family The Musical, the Lush Showcase 2018 and Kylie Minogue at the Manchester Arena, I obviously spent a fair amount of Cash enjoying myself.
5. Redecorate my Room.
So unfortunately I didn’t manage to achieve this one, but I did rearrange it and make it look a little nicer by adding a few finishing touches, like some Ornaments, a new Quilt Cover, and some Fairy Lights around my Headboard.
