At the beginning of the year, I always like to set myself a couple of little goals. Nothing too big, just a few things that I would like to achieve throughout the year, and I thought that I would tell you five of the things that I would like to achieve in 2020 and whether or not I managed to achieve 2019’s goals.
The reason that I call them goals instead of resolutions, is because if I set myself a New Years resolution, come the 3rd of January, I will have totally given up on whatever it was that I was trying to achieve.
Anyway, that’s enough of me rambling, here’s five things that I would like to achieve in 2020.
1. Become a little bit more environmentally friendly.
I try to be as environmentally friendly as I possibly can by recycling and trying not to use so much single use Plastic, but I could always stand to be a little bit better and make more of an effort, especially with the products that I buy and the companies that I buy them from.
2. Improve my Blog.
Don’t worry i’m not massively changing anything, I just want to edit some old Blog posts so that they’re in the right category, have the right Tags and have the best Search Engine Optimisation that they can possibly have. The only problem is that after writing a Blog for over five years now, it’s going to be quite a lot of work.
3. Not work so much.
I love writing a Blog, but over the past year i’ve noticed that I concentrate on writing, editing and thinking of what to write just a little bit too much, so much so that it’s pretty much all that I do. So I would love to scale it back a little bit and find a better work life balance so that i’m not constantly thinking of what to write next.
4. Pamper myself a little bit more.
I’ve never been to a Spa, had a Massage or had any kind of a Skin Treatment before, and with me turning 30 this year, I think that it’s about time that I started treating myself to some of the luxuries in life, like finally visiting a Spa, having a massage or maybe even trying Acupuncture.
5. Find a Signature Scent.
i’m always trying out new Fragrances, but i’ve never found one that I love enough to wear every day so that as soon as people smell it they think of me. So I would really like to find one that I love enough to wear every day, or at least narrow it down to a couple of Fragrances that I can rotate between so that I don’t have to think about it so much.
There you go, that’s the five things that I would like to achieve in 2020, but did I manage to achieve 2019’s goals?
Well, yes and no. I managed to achieve four out of five of them, which I don’t think is too bad!
1. See more live performances.
I definitely managed to achieve this one, as I went to see the Spice Girls perform live in Manchester, which was an amazing experience, but unfortunately all of the other Shows that i’ve wanted to see lately have all been sold out. I’m constantly looking for something new to go see though, so hopefully i’ll be seeing something very soon.
2. Fix my very weird Sleeping problem.
Ok, so I didn’t really manage to achieve this one, as even though I would have a really good routine for a couple of weeks, something would change and I would be back to only getting a couple of hours sleep a night. I don’t think i’ll actually ever have a good sleeping pattern to be honest with you, but i’ll obviously keep trying.
3. Become a little more independent.
I also managed to achieve this one, and even though I would still like to be more independent, i’m getting there. I mean i’m not Shopping all day by myself again yet, but I am constantly going out of my comfort zone, which is something.
4. Create some kind of a Skincare Routine.
I also managed to achieve this one too, as I have a pretty extensive Skincare Routine now, and even though I sometimes skip a day as I can’t always be bothered to do the entire Routine, I at least Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise my Skin when I wake up and before I go to Bed.
5. Meditate more.
I also managed to achieve this one as well. I still don’t find the time to Meditate as often as I would like to as I sometimes forget, but I am doing it at least four times a week and it’s helping me a lot, especially when i’m not sleeping properly or am feeling a little bit anxious about something.
