A couple of weeks ago you may remember that I was very kindly invited down to Lush York to check out all the lovely new Spring products, if not you can check out my post here. When I visited their beautiful store, the wonderful staff very kindly gave me some of the wonderful products, and of course I bought a few, I couldn’t resist haha. After using them for a little while, I thought I would tell you what I thought of them.
I was very kindly given, the Bunch Of Carrots Bubble Bars, a Golden Egg Bath Bomb, a bottle of Yummy Mummy Shower Cream, a block of Somewhere Over The Rainbow Soap, and I bought a tub of the Bouncy Bunny Shower Jelly, and a Flowering Tea Bubble Bar.
The Bunch Of Carrots Bubble Bars are described as a fun, distinctive, refreshing, and tropical reusable bubble bars with notes of Buchu, Lemon, and Grapefruit Oil.
This most definitely has to be my favourite of the entire bunch of Spring products, see what I did there haha. I love the strong citrus smell of these. They’re really invigorating and perfect for spring. They create the most luxurious bubbles and they’re great for relaxing at the end of a long day. I’m not too sure on the colour of these though. Last year they were all orange and this year they’re Pink, Purple, and Orange, it’s supposed to have something to do with Alice in Wonderland, but I prefered them last year when they were all Orange. If they’re supposed to look like Carrots, then they should look like Carrots, and apart from them being strange colours they do. They even have the stalks like a real Carrot does.
The Golden Egg is described as a Toffee scented Egg packed full of Fairtrade Colombian Cocoa Butter and Olive Oil to leave your skin feeling moisturised, Gold Lustre to give it’s distinctive look, and uplifting Bergamot Oil and sweet wild Orange Oil to tone and brighten your skin.
I wasn’t really a fan of this, it’s far too sweet for me. It did however leave my skin feeling incredible and so soft. I was quite worried about all that glitter, but it thankfully didn’t stick to my skin. Which was good as I don’t think I could pull off the whole glitterball look haha!
The Yummy Mummy Shower Cream is described as being packed full of Fairtrade Organic Cocoa Butter and Tonka Absolute to leave your skin feeling gorgeous, and Brazilian Orange, Geranium Oil, and Essential Oils to pamper and leave you smelling great.
I wasn’t a big fan of the smell. It reminded me too much of the sickly sweet Peeping Santa from the Christmas range. I loved how it left my skin feeling incredible. I think it had something to do with the amount of Cocoa Butter it had in it..
The Somewhere Over The Rainbow Soap is described as a rich fruit and floral soap containing Brazilian Mandarin Oil and Tunisian Neroli Oil to tone and brighten, and Turkish Rose that adds a dash of sweetness.
I wasn’t a fan of this when I first smelt it but after about a month of using it I actually quite like it. It doesn’t really lather up though, and when I applied it to my skin it had a rather overpowering floral smell. But once I had used it, it left a really nice Orangey citrus scent.
The Bouncy Bunny Shower Jelly is described as a bright and zesty shower jelly containing Brazilian Orange Oil to brighten and tone your skin, and Carrageenan to leave your skin feeling moisturised.
I really like the smell of this, I just wish it was a shower gel or cream as I find the shower jellies a little difficult to use. You know being visually impaired, water, and jelly, isn’t really a good mix haha!
The Flowering Tea Bubble Bar is described as a fragrant bubble bar containing uplifting Neroli, Rosewood Oil, Blue Cornflowers, and Orange Flower Absolute to help you reach your inner calm.
This was ok, but I probably wouldn’t buy it again. It reminded me of the Frozen bath bomb but with a whole load of Pepper thrown in. It was ok but nothing to write home about. The inner tea addict did like the look and concept of this one as it looks like a giant tea bag that you hook over your tap.
Overall I would have to rate the Lush Spring range a seven out of ten. There were some things I really liked like the Bunch Of Carrots Bubble Bars and the Bouncy Bunny Shower Jelly, and somethings that I didn’t like so much.
Like most of Lush’s products, all of these are limited edition, so if you want to get your hands on them too, you better get a move on.
