Luke Loves Christmas 2014 | Get Ready With Me

Hi guys, and welcome to the last Luke Loves Christmas post.

Now, today is Christmas Eve, and on Christmas Eve, I usually like to start getting ready for the big day. That’s why in todays post, I thought I would do a sort of Get Ready With Me.

Before I start, I would just like to say that each and every product name will be a direct product link. That way, if you want to buy anything, you can. Also, there’s a lot of steps to my get ready with me which is apparently, untypical of a man. I like to look after myself, whether or not any of it works, is another story.

Let me begin.

I usually like to start getting ready at about 2:30pm. The reason for that is, there’s a lot of people in my house, and they like to faff around in the bathroom for ages, so 2:30 gives them plenty of time, before I lock myself in the bathroom for an hour or so. Giving them time, also means they don’t interrupt me.

The first thing I do, is run a bath. I usually drop in a little bubble bath or shower cream to add a few bubbles. The one i’m using at the moment, is The Body Shop Raspberry Shower Gel.

While my bath is running, I like to get everything else ready. This includes, gathering all my various different products together, and getting a change of clothes. While the bath is also running, I like to have some music playing. At the moment, i’m listening to my T’is The Season playlist on Spotify.

Once the bath has finished running. I quickly make myself a cup of tea. At the moment, it’s either Chai Tea or Apple & Pear Twinings,I also put it in my Twinings Travel Mug. When my tea is ready, i go back to my bath and add the cold water. Once the cold is done, and the bath is the right temperature, I turn the water off. I also at this point, switch from Spotify to Audible. The book I am reading at the moment is, Girl Online by Zoe Sugg.

Once all of this is done, I get into the insanely deep bath, yes I like it deep, ha ha, queue the innuendos.

The first thing I do is slap on a load of Lynx Shower Gel. It’s an ok shower get, it’s not my favourite, but i’m trying to use it up. The next thing is my hair. I use the Pantene PRO V Breakage Defence Shampoo, and the Pantene PRO V Breakage Defence Conditioner. I like to put a layer of each on, both at the same time. Yes I know i’m not supposed to do that, but it works for me. I also like to leave my shampoo and conditioner do its thing while I do other things.

That’s the shower gel and hair out of the way, next, shaving. It’s easier for me to shave while i’m in the bath, I also find I get a closer shave using just water, rather than using a gel. It usually takes me about 15 minutes to get my facial hair looking how I want it, I basically mean all off.

After shaving, I like to give my face a good scrub. This way any dead skin that was under the hairs gets removed. I’m currently using the Sanctuary Salt Scrub. I’m not sure if i’m supposed to use it on my face, but I do. I usually let it sit for about 2 minutes, that way my face gets used to the texture. Then I scrub the living daylights out of my face.

Once scrubbed, I like to throw on a face mask. The one i’m using at the minute is the Palmers Cocoa Butter Purifying Face Mask. I usually leave this on for about 10 to 20 minutes. I usually lay back, relax and sip my tea while my mask sets.

Once the 10 to 20 minutes have passed, I rinse off the mask and throw on some of The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser, just to make sure I have removed all of the mask.

Once I have washed off the cleanser, I also rinse out my hair. Once all the shampoo and conditioner is out, I put in some of the Pantene PRO V Repair and Protect Hair Mask, and leave that to sit. I usually wash this out just before I get out.

I usually lay and listen to my book for a good 10 minutes before I start on my face.

I then use some of the Ted Baker Ted’s Grooming Room Facial Wash on my cheeks and forehead then after about 2 minutes, wash this off. Then I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash on my chin, forehead and rest of my face, then after about 2 minutes, I wrinse that off too.

After this, I again use the Lynx Shower Gel, and rinse it all off.

I then use the L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Seconds Miricle Cleansing Oil and rinse that off. This is just to get rid of any other product residue. I then rinse out the hair mask and get out.

I then get dressed and brush my teeth. The tooth paste I use is the Colgate 360 Max White One. I then of course put on some deodorant, I use the L’Oreal Men Expert 96HR Invinsible. Then last but by no means least, I put on my body butter and moisturiser. The ones I use are the Sanctuary Body Butter and the Palmers Cocoa Butter Mens Face and Body Lotion. It’s winter and my skin is a nightmare if I don’t moisturise.

After doing all of this, I am finally ready. I did say it took a lot. I know I use a lot of products, but if you have any recommendations please get in touch.

Thank you for reading and Merry Christmas.
