Launching A Thousand Ships | Lush 1000 Millihelens Jelly Face Mask

As you probably already know, I absolutely love relaxing with a good face mask, especially with one of the ones from Lush. So when I got talking to one of the wonderful staff members at Lush White Rose a couple of weeks ago, who very kindly asked me if I would like to try out a little of their 1000 Millihelens Jelly Face Mask, I of course said yes, and after a good five minutes of us both talking, I eventually bought myself a little tub. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what Lush say about their 1000 Millihelens Jelly Face Mask.

Get back the skin you myth’d with enzymic and brightening fresh Apple Juice and toning Green Tea. Witch Hazel plays no tricks with it’s antibacterial and astringent gifts. Sicilian Lemon and Brazilian Orange Oils help to brighten the skin, while Neroli Oil gets to work at brightening your mood. If you fancy swanning around with firmer skin, give this a troy.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as I thought that it reminded me of walking through an Apple Orchard during Summer. I also really liked that it shares it scent with the Johnny Appleseed bath oil, which just so happens to be one of my favourite Bath oils.

It’s consistency.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s consistency, as with this being a jelly face mask, it was just like a massive block of jelly. But after I had used it a couple of times, I actually grew to rather like it, as it being a jelly meant that I had full control on exactly where it went.

What it did when I used it.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of what it did when I first used it, as it pretty much just felt like I had a face full of oil, but after I had used it a couple of times, it actually started to grow on me. I also really liked that even though it was pretty oily and didn’t actually set, that it didn’t drip anywhere whilst I was using it.

When I was in store, the lovely staff member who showed me this, said that to use it I had to tare a little bit off, massage it into a paste, and then apply it to my skin. But I found that the best way to use this, was to take it completely out of it’s tub, and swipe it across my face like a Facial Soap.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my skin feeling incredibly soft and moisturised, but it also brightened and toned it as well. I also really liked that this managed to calm down a couple of blemishes that I had, as I thought the fact that it created so much oil would actually break me out.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush 1000 Millihelens Jelly Face Mask a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s fresh Apple scent, it’s extremely weird consistency, what it did when I used it, and especially that it left my skin looking and feeling so good, but I did find the fact that it was a jelly a little hard to comprehend.
