Writing My Dad A Letter | Lush Father’s Day 2019 Range

As you probably already know, I absolutely love it whenever Lush releases anything new. That’s why when I had heard that they had released their Father’s Day 2019 range, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up the Dear John Bath Bomb, a Bottle of the Dear John Shower Gel, and a Bottle of the Dear John Perfume, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Lush say about all three delicious smelling products.

The Dear John Bath Bomb.

Submerge yourself in Inky-Blue Waters laced with Coriander and spicy Clove Bud Oil when you feel nostalgic for Home and Family. Smoky Vetivert and grounding Cedarwood soothe Mind and Body, combining just a hint of Tobacco with the earthiness of the great outdoors. As you soak, the personal and poignant Perfume made by Mark Constantine for his Father is at work, evoking the comfort of Home with a yearning for the past.

The Dear John Shower Gel.

Fragranced with Dear John Perfume, Mark Constantine’s ode to his Father, this nostalgic, spicy Shower Gel smells familiar and reassuring, like burying your Face in Clothing to get the Scent of a person. Warm and comforting Clove Infusion combines with Coriander Seed Oil to boost circulation and relieve weariness, while Cedarwood and Vetivert provide a hint of Tobacco and the outdoors trampled in through the House. Dads will appreciate the thought, but everyone will enjoy lathering up with this rich, reassuring ode to Fathers in all shapes and forms.

The Dear John Perfume.

A warm, rugged Perfume tribute to fatherhood and masculinity, that doesn’t just smell good on Men. Mark Constantine’s poignant ode to his lost Father smells lived in and reassuring, like burying your Face in Clothing to get the Scent of a person. Spicy Clove Bud and Coriander provide spice and notes of freshly brewed Coffee, while Vetivert and Cedarwood suggest a hint of Tobacco and the great outdoors.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Cedarwood Oil, Vetivert Oil, Coriander Seed Oil, and Clove Bud Oil, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and oceanic yet ever so slightly citrusy Seaweed scent to it that kind of reminded me of their Big Blue Bath Bomb.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once it hit the Water, it fizzed and hissed for a couple of seconds before releasing streams of beautiful vivid deep Blue all over the surface of the Water, and then after a couple more minutes it also released streams of bright White Foam that eventually blended together to turned my entire Bath a gorgeous Dark Inky-Blue colour.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft and moisturised, but it also left it smelling of delicious fresh and oceanic yet ever so slightly citrusy Seaweed for hours after I had used it.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Fresh Coriander Infusion, Fair Trade Organic Clove Bud Infusion, Cedarwood Oil, Vetivert Oil, Coriander Seed Oil, Clove Bud Oil, and Lactic Acid, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and oceanic yet ever so slightly citrusy Seaweed scent to it that kind of reminded me of their Big Blue Bath Bomb..

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Shower Gel, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy, and was more like a really thick and creamy Shower Cream rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Shower Gel.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from a really thick and creamy Shower Cream into a thick and frothy Shower Gel that spread really easily across my Body.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, squeaky clean and moisturised, but it also left it looking extremely glowing and smelling of delicious fresh and oceanic yet ever so slightly citrusy Seaweed for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a clickable Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

A short cylindrical clear glass bottle full of some clear liquid with a black lid and a black label that has Dear John Perfume written in bold white writing on it, on a white background.

It’s longevity.

I really liked how long this lasted on my Skin, as I sprayed a little bit of it on to my Wrists and Neck when I was getting ready at about eight o’clock in the morning, and I could still strongly smell it on my Skin when I rolled into Bed at about Midnight.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush Dear John Bath Bomb an eight point five out of ten, the Lush Dear John Shower Gel an eight point five out of ten, and the Lush Dear John Perfume a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved the Lush Dear John Bath Bomb, as I really liked it’s delicious fresh and oceanic yet ever so slightly citrusy scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wish that it was a little bit more moisturising.
