Punk Is Definitely Back This Halloween | Lush Halloween 2019 Range

As you probably already know, I absolutely love it whenever Lush releases anything new. That’s why when I had heard that they had released their Halloween 2019 range, I obviously had to pop down to my local Lush store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up the Mercury Retrograde Bath Bomb, the Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb, a Tub of the Boo Shower Slime, and a Jar of the Pumpkin Spice Lip Scrub, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.
Here’s what Lush say about all four amazingly spooky scented products.

The Mercury Retrograde Bath Bomb.

On All Hallows Eve this year, Mercury will be in retrograde. But before thoughts of imminent chaos cross your Mind, grab this cosmic Bath Bomb. Whether you’ve slept through your Alarm, or conversations with friends seem curious, you might be in need of some reassurance. Sicilian Lemon Oil collides with stimulating Ginger to ease tension and lift your mood. While Sodium Alginate cocoons you in comfort, Coarse Sea Salt helps soften Skin. Be soothed by fruity Buchu and spicy Cinnamon that will leave you feeling celestial and wash any worries of weird interactions away.

The Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb.

Beware the things that punk in the night,
And fill your Bath to the brim with fright.
Those Eyes that glow in a pitch-black room,
Belong to the spooks of warm Cinnamon.
As the Night draws in and silence falls,
All around you the darkness falls.
Don’t look, don’t scream, don’t give it power,
Cleanse the Air with Pumpkin Powder.
The Bathroom’s calling,
So no more stalling,
The Witching Hour brings Nightmares crawling.
To make the Shadows retreat and recoil,
Fizz this ghoul of bright Citrus Oils!

The Boo! Shower Slime.

Raise your Spirits this Halloween and get Hands on with this spooky Black Slime! Softening Cornflower leaves Skin clean and comforted while the buffing power of Bamboo Stem Extract will slay dry Skin and leave it frighteningly smooth. Xanthan Gum is a natural thickening agent that softens and moisturises the Skin while preserving the product. It also means we don’t have to use any Plastics to make your Slime extra slimy! Don’t let the colour scare you off, this Slime is fragranced with the Bubblegum scent of a Trick or Treat Haul.
It’s always best to get a little messy before you get clean. Scoop into your Hands and squidge away and when you’re ready to wash lather up on wet Skin and rinse off for a brand new take on showering.

The Pumpkin Spice Lip Scrub.

Break out the Knitted Jumpers and kiss Summer goodbye, Autumn has arrived. For a true taste of Autumn put down the Latte and reach for this indulgent Scrub, packed with sweet and spicy flavours that will have you feeling thankful.
Like a slice of freshly baked Pumpkin Pie, this comforting mixture of Clove Bud Oil, Ginger Oleoresin and Cinnamon Powder has been blended together to perfect that Pout and warm your Lips against the cool Autumn Air. Castor Sugar gently buffs and polishes dry Skin away, while Pumpkin Butter and Jojoba Oil softens and sooth for kissable Lips you’ll want to cosy up with all season long. Go on, spice up your life!

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Coarse Sea Salt, Potato Starch, Buchu Oil, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Ginger Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil, and Sodium Alginate, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and spicy yet ever so slightly creamy Ginger scent to it that kind of reminded me of the Yankee Candle Gingerbread Maple Candle.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once it hit the Water, it fizzed and hissed for a couple of seconds before releasing streams of vivid White and Yellow all over the surface of the Water, and then after a couple more seconds it also started to release streams of vibrant Orange all over the surface of the Water that eventually blended together to turn my entire Bath a beautiful vivid Red colour. I also really liked that as it was fizzing, that it released lots of little pieces of Coarse Sea Salt and a layer of Sodium Alginate all over the bottom of my Bath that blended together to make my Water feel really silky soft.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it smelling of delicious sweet and spicy yet ever so slightly creamy Ginger for hours after i had used it.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Organic Pumpkin Powder, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Lime Oil, Sweet Wild Orange Oil, Sicilian Red Mandarin Oil, and Luminescent Zinc Sulphide, I thought that it had a delicious deep and musky yet ever so slightly zesty Pumpkin scent to it that kind of reminded me of a spicier version of their Ectoplasm Jelly Bomb.

what it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once it hit the Water, it fizzed and hissed for a couple of seconds before releasing streams of vivid Orange and White Foam all over the surface of the Water that eventually blended together to turn my entire Bath a beautiful Pastel Orange colour.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, bouncy and hydrated, but it also left it smelling of delicious deep and musky yet ever so slightly zesty Pumpkin that lasted for hours after I had used it. I however wasn’t really a massive fan of that it left my Skin feeling extremely dry, as I found that I had to use quite a lot of Body Lotion after I had used it.

The Boo! Shower Slime.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Glycerin, Cornflower, Xanthan Gum, and Bamboo Stem Extract, I thought that it had an extremely sweet and sickly yet ever so slightly synthetic Bubblegum scent to it that kind of reminded me of their Snow Fairy Shower Gel.

It’s consistency.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Shower Slime, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly sticky, and was more like an incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly sticky lump of Custard rather than a thick and balmy Shower Slime.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly sticky lump of Custard into a thin and balmy yet ever so slightly creamy Shower Cream with little pieces of grit in it that spread really easily across my Body.

It’s results.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s results, as even though it left my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth and smelling of delicious sweet and sickly yet ever so slightly synthetic Bubblegum for hours after I had used it, I also found that it left it feeling incredibly dry and tight, as I had to apply quite a lot of Body Lotion whenever I used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Black Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

The Pumpkin Spice Lip Scrub.

It’s taste.

I really liked it’s taste, as even though it contained Castor Sugar, Organic Jojoba Oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter, Fine Sea Salt, Clove Bud Oil, Ginger Oleoresin, Organic Pumpkin Seed Butter, Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil, Cocoa Powder, Fair Trade Organic Cinnamon Powder, and Paprika Oleoresin, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly spicy Cinnamon taste to it that kind of reminded me of a Cinnamon Bun covered in quite a lot of Pumpkin Syrup.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had scooped some out of it’s Jar and had started to rub it across my Skin, it released lots of little shards of oily Sugar and sea Salt all over my Lips that eventually dissolved into a thin and buttery Lip Balm that set within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s results, as even though it left my Lips feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, bouncy and tasting of delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly spicy Cinnamon, I also found that it left them feeling so incredibly dry and irritated that I instantly had to apply some kind of a Lip Balm after I had used it.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush Mercury Retrograde Bath Bomb a nine out of ten, the Lush Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb an eight out of ten, the Lush Boo! Shower Slime a six out of ten, and the Lush Pumpkin Spice Lip Scrub a seven point five out of ten. I really liked the Lush Mercury Retrograde Bath Bomb, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and spicy yet ever so slightly creamy Ginger scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I would have just liked it to have smelt a little bit more spicier. I really liked the Lush Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and musky yet ever so slightly zesty Pumpkin scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I would have just liked it to have felt a little bit more moisturising. I wasn’t really a massive fan of the Lush Boo! Shower Slime, as even though I absolutely loved what it did when I used it, and it’s results, I really wasn’t a massive fan of it’s extremely sweet and sickly yet ever so slightly synthetic Bubblegum scent ,it’s consistency, or that it left my Skin feeling extremely dry and tight. I really liked the Lush Pumpkin Spice Lip Scrub, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly spicy Cinnamon taste, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I really didn’t like that it left my Lips feeling so dry and irritated.
