Stripping Off And Getting Naked | Lush Manchester Naked Store Exclusives

One of my favourite places to visit whilst i’m out Shopping definitely has to be Lush as I absolutely love the atmosphere and that all of the Staff are so knowledgable. That’s why when I had heard that they had opened a totally packaging free store in Manchester, I obviously had to pop in and pick up a few of their exclusive products. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up the Aurora Borealis Body Scrub and the Minamisoma Shower Oil, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

A large store full of some light wooden shelves that have some various different shaped bath bombs and skincare on them next to a tall square black board that has Plastic Packaging is rubbish written in bold white writing on it, on a white background.

What’s the difference between a regular Lush store and a Lush Naked store?

The main difference is that every single product, from their Soap Bars and Shower Gels, to their Facial Cleansers and Bath Bombs have absolutely no packaging, which makes them self-preserving as well as being kinder to the environment.

here’s what Lush say about both amazing Naked products.

The Aurora Borealis Body Scrub.

For Skin that glows as bright as the Northern Lights, polish up with enzymic Pineapple and brightening Sicilian Lemon Oil.

Only available in our Manchester Naked Store.

The Minamisoma Shower Oil.

In 2011, Minamisoma, a small city in Fukushima prefecture in Northern Japan was hit by the Tohoku Earthquake. Most of its residents were evacuated and over five years later, in 2016, the residents were allowed to move back. In place of their ruined Rice Crops, the locals began growing Crops of Rapeseed instead. Rapeseed Plants remove Cesium from the Soil and their Seeds are turned into Oil which is radiation free and safe to use. Fukushima Rapeseed Oil is used in this Shower Oil to help Skin feel soft and moisturised. Yuzu Juice, Bergamot and Olibanum Oils give a warm, sunny citrus scent while Kinako Powder, a Flour made from roasted Soy Beans leaves Skin smelling sweet.

Shower Oils provide a mild cleanse, perfect for gentle types or can be used as the last step in your routine to give Skin a moisturising boost. Simply stroke over your Body and rinse away for soft and strokable Skin.

The Aurora Borealis Body Scrub.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Granulated Sugar, Fine Sea Salt, Potato Starch, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Spearmint Oil, and Pineapple Powder, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly minty masculine Pineapple scent to it that kind of reminded me of drinking a Glass of Pineapple Juice in a very busy Beer Garden.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it started to release little pieces of extremely gritty and fine but oily Granulated Sugar and Sea Salt that blended together to give my Skin a really deep and harsh scrub.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth and moisturised, but it also left it smelling of delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly minty masculine Pineapple for hours after I had used it.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Rapeseed Oil, Sunflower Wax, Bergamot Oil, Litsea Cubeba Oil, Olibanum Oil, Fresh Lemon Juice, and Turmeric Powder, I thought that it had a delicious light and delicate yet ever so slightly creamy Lemon scent to it that kind of reminded me of their Chocolate Easter Egg Soap.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it started to slowly melt and released lots of thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Oil that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds. I also really liked that when I started to remove it, that it turned into a very thin and creamy yet ever so slightly watery Body Milk that was really easy to remove.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, supple and intensely moisturised, but it also left it smelling of delicious light and delicate yet ever so slightly creamy Lemon for hours after I had used it.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush Aurora Borealis Body Scrub an eight out of ten and the Lush Minamisoma Shower Oil an eight point five out of ten. I really like the Lush Aurora Borealis Body Scrub, as I absolutely loved it’s sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly minty masculine Pineapple scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I did think that it was a little bit on the small side for a Body Scrub. I really liked the Lush Minamisoma Shower Oil, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious light and delicate yet ever so slightly creamy Lemon scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I did notice that it got used up extremely quickly.

  1. My twin is the one who introduced me to Lush, I love the company for their ethics and what they do for the environment, the Aurora Borealis Body Scrub sounds amazing, it makes me wish that is was available in the US, and that there was a closer store.
