Oh My Beating Heart | Lush Valentines Day Range 2017

I absolutely love it when Lush release one of their limited edition ranges, so when I heard that they had released their Valentines Day 2017 range, I of course had to visit my local Lush store and check everything out. After being shown all of the range by a lovely staff member at Lush White Rose, I eventually bought the Two Hearts Beating As One Bath Oil, the Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb, the Over And Over Bath Bomb, and the Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Lush say about the Two Hearts Beating As One Bath Oil, the Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb, the Over And Over Bath Bomb, and the Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card.

Two Hearts Beating As One Bath Oil… Need a bath like you’ve never had a bath before? Had a little bath, but now you’re back for more? Tonight’s the night when two become one. So set your spirits free with a union of of Ylang-ylang and Rose oils, and be mesmerised as they dance their dizzyingly floral first dance in your bath water. Also, while all eyes are on the coral and magenta magic unfurling in your tub, an entourage of softening organic Cocoa Butter and Almond oil will bestow your body with a conditioning caress.

Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb… Love is blind, which is a shame because this bombshell with a floral triple of yellow Rose petals, Rose absolute, and Rose oil, is an enthralling spectacle. As it fizzes, the outer shell breaks away and magnificent petals burst out in a sweet haze of Sicilian Lemon and floral Geranium oil.

Over And Over Bath Bomb… No it’s not all in your head. This enlivening Cocoa Butter coated Lime and Fennel oil bomb will perk you up and leave you thinking about it over and over again. Be mesmerised by it’s hypnotic rocking and rolling, as a vibrant citrus firework of Pinks, Oranges, and Golds unfurl into your bath.

Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card… Hold this floral fresh Apple pulp wash card close, and let the enzymic oil of brightening Lemons and Limes accompany you, naked, into the shower. How do I do it, I hear you ask? Well it’s easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy! Just lather up with this soapy-sheet, bursting the bubbles all over your body! Rinse off, and nothing but fruity fresh soft skin will await you. Refreshing and uplifting to a tired mind, this is super handy for sharing, travelling and also works fantastically as a sweet-scented shampoo, so this is perfect for anytime, any place, and any body! Ylang-Ylang will help any tiredness or anxiety dissipate, and you’ll head into your day feeling joyful and raring to go.

It’s scent.

I’m not usually a lover of anything floral, but I actually quite like this, as I found that it had more of a musky undertone to it rather than smelling like an entire bouquet of flowers, which is usually the reason why I don’t like floral scents.

What it did in my bath.

I was really impressed with this, as it turned my bath water a beautiful vivid Pink colour, whilst all of the oils also added a nice silky soft layer to the top of my bath water.

It’s results.

My skin absolutely loved this, as all of the oils in this intensely moisturised my skin without leaving it feeling greasy, and I also found that I didn’t need to use any kind of a body moisturiser after using this, as my body was already extremely moisturised. I was a little afraid that with this containing so much oil that it would leave some kind of a film on my body, but luckily it didn’t, and it just left me with soft supple skin that had a really nice light floral scent.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a fan of it’s scent, as I much prefer the sweet and subtile Rose scents rather than the deep and dark heavy ones, and this was just far too deep for me. If you like Lush’s Rose Jam range then you’ll probably absolutely love this, but it just wasn’t for me.

What it did in my bath.

I absolutely loved this in my bath, because after a minute or two it released a scattering of gorgeous Rose petals that made my bath look incredibly romantic.

It’s results.

I loved the results of this, because as well as leaving my skin intensely moisturised, it also left a delicate Rose scent all over my body that lasted all day.

The Over And Over Bath Bomb.

It’s scent.

I think that this had to be my favourite smelling of the entire range, as I found it’s incredibly zesty Lime scent very invigorating. I however unfortunately couldn’t smell the Fennel, but I did think that it enhanced the intensity of the Lime scent, making it that little bit stronger.
What it did in my bath.

This was actually quite of a slow burner, and I found it’s rocking to be extremely soothing, but even though the Pink Orange and Gold colours that came out of this were really vibrant, they didn’t mix together that well and created a not so pleasing colour in my bath.

It’s results.

This again left my skin really moisturised, but it wasn’t as moisturising as either the Two Hearts Beating As One Bath Oil, or the Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb. it also left a really nice yet subtile Lime scent on my skin, that made me keep sniffing myself all day.

The Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card.

A rectangular yellow wash card, with kiss me quick written in red capital letters, with two little love hearts, One at the side of kiss, and the other at the side of quick, on a white background.

It’s scent.

This had a really interesting scent, because it was supposed to smell like the smell you get whenever you first enter a Lush store, which it strangely did, but it also smelt totally different depending on where you are sniffing. For instance, the top right corner smelt totally different to the bottom right corner.

What it did when I used it.

The way I was told to use it was to tare a little bit off and rub it onto my skin, which seems really easy, but because I was only using a tiny bit of it at a time I found that it tended to bunch up and turn into that weird stringy bit you get after you’ve used a chunk of bath jelly. I did however find that it lathered up into a really nice rich lather, which I thought was great, especially given it’s size.

It’s results.

This wasn’t as moisturising as the other three products, but it still moisturised my hands, and left them feeling incredibly clean, whilst giving them a nice subtile citrus scent..

My final thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Two Hearts Beating As One Bath Oil an eight point five out of ten, the Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb a six out of ten, the Over And Over Bath Bomb a nine out of ten, and the Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card a seven point five out of ten. I loved everything about the Two Hearts Beating As One Bath Oil, which kind of surprised me as i’m not a fan of anything floral scented, but because it had such a delicate scent it’s one that I could see being one of my top ten favourite bath oils of all time. I’m afraid I just didn’t like the incredibly deep Rose scent of the Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb, which is a shame as if it smelt like their Rosie Cheeks range, I would absolutely adore this. As i’ve already said, the Over And Over Bath Bomb had to be my favourite of the four products, as I just love anything citrus scented, and the fact that it rocked around my bath just made me love it even more. I did like the Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card, as I found it’s scent incredibly interesting, but the fact that it turned into a chunk of mush made me dislike it a little. I did like the concept of a wash card however, because it’s not something i’ve ever seen been released before.
