It’s In Your Eyes | Optrex Warming Eye Masks

With me looking at a screen all day, my Eyes tend to get incredibly tired and sore, which means that i’m always on the look out for anything that will help to relax and sooth them. So when someone very kindly suggested that I try out the Optrex Warming Eye Masks I obviously had to give them a go. Well i’ve been using them for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Optrex say about their Warming Eye Masks.

Other than simply not getting enough sleep, the feeling of tired Eyes can be the result of many different activities that require intense use of the Eye muscles for long periods of time.

Sitting for hours in front of a screen, driving, reading and constantly staring at your mobile can make your Eyes feel tired, which is why Optrex has designed the Warming Eye Mask, created to present an innovative way to relax and sooth tiredEyes.

With unique Micro-Steam™ technology, the Mask warms instantly when opened, releasing a gentle soothing heat to relax and relieve tired Eyes.

The frenetic pace of modern life means that we increasingly take less time to relax, de-stress and re-charge our batteries. The Mask encourages you to take time to switch of mentally, whether you’re getting ready for bed after a long day, or flying to a far-flung corner of the world. Once you’ve had your down-time, simply throw the Mask away.

The Warming Eye Mask is available unscented, or with a relaxing Lavender fragrance.

The Optrex Warming Eye Mask relieves and relaxes tired Eyes in just ten minutes.

How it works.

The Eye Mask is disposable and self-heating. It starts to warm up instantly when opened, reaching it’s optimal temperature between three and five minutes, which means that it’s ideal to use at home before bedtime or when you’re travelling.

Their material.

I really liked their material, as even though I thought that it felt pretty thin in some places, like their arms, the front of the Eye Masks themselves actually felt really thick, and kind of reminded me of a really springy Sponge.

Their size.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of their size, as I have an averaged sized Head, and once I had eventually managed to get one of these on, it felt extremely tight and pressed into my Eyes quite a lot. I also really didn’t like that I literally had to bend parts of my Ears to make it stay attached to my Face.

Their scent.

I really liked their scent, as I managed to pick up the unscented version, which as you can probably guess meant that they didn’t smell of anything. I definitely think that having a scented version that smells of Lavender would be great to use before Bed though.

What they did when I used them.

I absolutely loved what they did when I used them, as once I had removed one from it’s sealed plastic pouch and had eventually got it to fit my apparently massive Head, it started to heat up more or less instantaneously and created an almost tingling sensation that kind of reminded me of when drizzle splashes onto my Face. I also really liked that they gradually heated up rather than all of a sudden being at their maximum heat, as I was a little worried that the heat would irritate my extremely sensitive Eyes.

Their results.

I absolutely loved their results, as after I had used one of these for about fifteen minutes, I found that my Eyes felt incredibly relaxed and refreshed, and that my Eyes look like I had just taken an eight hours nap. I also really liked that they made my eyes feel extremely moisturised, as even though the steam wasn’t visible, the Mask did trap it in between my Eyes and the material of the Mask adding some much needed moisture to my seemingly always dry Eyes.

Their packaging.

I really liked their packaging, as these came individually wrapped in a securely locked plastic pouch which meant that they stayed incredibly fresh..

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Optrex Warming Eye Masks a nine out of ten. I really liked their strange thick yet thin Spongy material, their scent, what they did when I used them, that they made my Eyes look and feel so good, and their very secure packaging. But I unfortunately just wasn’t a massive fan of their size, as I have an average sized Head, and if they didn’t manage to fit me, they probably won’t fit a lot of other people too.
