Review | How To Get Away With Murder | Contains Spoilers

Hi all my wonderful readers. I hope you’re all having a brilliant day.

On Sunday, it was the last in the series of the incredibly intense How To Get Away With Murder, and I thought I would share my thoughts on not only the season finale, but the entire season.

If you haven’t seen How To Get Away With Murder, then here’s a little back story.

The series is centred around a law professor called Annalise Keating, and her four students. One night, a female student is strangled. After a suspect is acused, Annalise and her students start to help her defend her case. Annalise eventually wins her case, but then one night when all the students and their client are at Annalise’s house, one of them kills her husband Sam, and the series is all about who really killed the female student, and whether or not they’ll get away with murdering Sam Keating.

I was extremely impressed with How To Get Away With Murder. It brings together all the tv show elements I like, murder, mystery, love, and drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Every single week it had me guessing on what would happen next.

I really enjoyed the relationships between Annalise and her team. Especially the relationship between her and Wes.

How To Get Away With Murder is not for the faint-hearted or children. It not only as the title suggests contains murder and blood, but it also features moderate swearing and extremely intense sex scenes.

I did like the fact that they focused quite heavily on the gay character. They even managed to sneak in a few gay sex scenes, which to my knowledge has never been done on prime time television, so kudos to them.

The series as a whole was intense, but the finale itself was a true on the edge of your seat masterpeice.

The finale starts of with Rebecca, the suspect at the beginning of the series, being tied up and the students gathered around her trying to keep her quiet. They are trying to ascertain if she did infact kill the female student, Lila. They go around the room trying to gather evidence so they can figure out if they had truely screwed up their lives by covering up Sam Keating’s murder.  Annalise walks in on the scene and comes up with the idea of holding a trial to gather all the facts. The episode then shows all the different students running around like headless chickens trying to prove they haven’t ruined their lives. Other than that, you’ll have to watch the episode to find out what happens next.

The finale then ends on a massive cliffhanger showing flashback scenes, and ending on a mysterious figure hovering over Lila’s body.

I extremely enjoyed How To Get Away With Murder. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes crime, mystery, or murder shows.

Out of ten, I would have to give this a massive ten. I am extremely looking forward to season two.

I hope that season two will return soon. When it does, you can catch it on Universal Channel.
