Shine The Spotlight | December 2018 | Charities Edition

It’s the first Monday of the month everyone, which means that it’s time for another Shine The Spotlight, but this month instead of me sharing five amazing Blogs with you, I thought that I would highlight five very worthwhile Charities that I think you should support.
First up has to be, Crisis.
With approximately 3.5 million people experiencing Homelessness in some way, shape or form a year, Crisis really could do with your support to get more Homeless people off of the streets. They’re also running their Crisis At Christmas Campaign again this year, where for just £28.50, you can give a Homeless person a warm welcome and good company, three nutritious hot meals including a Christmas Dinner, a Bed for the night if they need one, a chance to shower, freshen up and get some clean Clothes, a Health check from a Doctor, Optician and Dentist, expert help with Mental Health and Addiction problems, advice on housing, employment and benefits, and a way out of Homelessness for good through their year round training, education and support services.
Next up has to be, Hearing Dogs For Deaf People.
With it costing over £40,000 to train just one life changing Hearing Dog from birth to being partnered with a Def Person, Hearing Dogs For Deaf People could really do with your support to train another life changing Hearing Dog to be a Deaf Persons saviour by notifying them of sounds like the Doorbell and their Alarm Clock and giving them their lives back.
Next up has to be, Stonewall.
With 1 in 5 LGBT people in the UK reportedly experiencing a hate crime or an incident because of their sexual orientation or gender identity in the last 12 months Stonewall could really do with your support to combat the prejudice and discrimination that people in the LGBT community face on a daily basis by campaigning for change, and offering things like workplace support, community support and educational support including LGBT sexual education.
Next up has to be, Alzheimers Research UK.
With almost 600 people in the UK a day developing Dementia, Alzheimers Research UK could really do with your support to create a world where people are free of the harm, fear and heartbreak of Dementia by raising awareness and researching to find a possible cure for this devastating disease.
The last and final Charity for this months very special Shine The Spotlight has to be, Retina UK.
With over 2 million people living with Sight Loss in the UK, Retina UK could really do with your support to help people effected by inherited progressive Sight Loss and to also invest in Medical Research to ensure that Blind and Visually Impaired people can lead a rich and fulfilling life.
That my friends, brings us to the end of another Shine The Spotlight.
What are some of the Charities that you support? Why do you like supporting them? Please let me know down below.
