Shine The Spotlight | December 2019 | Charities Edition

It’s the first Monday of the month everyone, which means that it’s time for another Shine The Spotlight, but instead of me sharing five amazing blogs with you, this month I thought that I would highlight five very worthwhile Charities that could really do with your support.

First up has to be, Look UK.

With over 2,000,000 people living with Sight Loss in the UK, Look UK could really do with your support to help young Visually Impaired people and their Families by offering Mentoring Schemes, Transformational Events, Youth Forums, Parent Support Groups and linking to other Charities and organisations to access the support that they need.

Next up has to be, PDSA.

With our Pets being a massive part of our Family, PDSA could really do with your support to provide Emergency Veterinary Care from one of their 48 Pet Hospitals for people in Financial difficulty or Social Hardship, as well as being a leading authority on Pet Health and Wellbeing, raising awareness of Pet Obesity, raising the status of Animals, and celebrating the contributions that they make to our lives.

Next up has to be, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.

With around 1,900 Children diagnosed with a life threatening or Terminal Illness in the UK a year, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity could really do with your support to provide emotional and practical support to Families who have a Child with a life threatening or Terminal Illness as well as Support to the whole Family 24/7 for as long as they need it.

Next up has to be, Galop.

With one in ten people still thinking that LGBT people are dangerous to other people and can be cured, Galop could really do with your support to support LGBT people who have experienced Hate Crime, Sexual Violence or Domestic Abuse as well as Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and Queer people who have had problems with the Police or have questions about the Criminal Justice System.

The last and final Charity for this months very special Shine The Spotlight, has to be Dogs On The Streets.

With up to 24% of Homeless People also owning a Dog, Dogs On The Streets could really do with your support to offer 24/7 services like a Mobile Veterinary Surgery with Health Checks, Microchipping and Medication, free essential items and services like Food provisions and new Harnesses or Leads, Dog Trainers and Behaviourists who provide training and behavioural advice, and even Fostering of Street Dogs in emergency situations.

That my friends, brings us to the end of another Shine The Spotlight.
