the Joi Of Styling Your Hair | Structure by Joico Range | Gifted

I’ve been making a real effort to style my Hair lately, as it’s the one part of my Beauty Routine that I don’t really like doing. That’s why when the guys over at Structure by Joico very kindly asked me if I would like to try some of their recently rebranded and reformulated Styling Products, I of course said yes. Well they very kindly sent me a Bottle of their Stylemaker, a Bottle of their Beach, a Tub of their Shaper, a Tub of their Paste, and a Tube of their Glue, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained quite a lot of Chemicals and Perfume, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and floral yet ever so slightly sweet watery scent to it that kind of reminded me of Aloe Vera Juice mixed with Hair Spray.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Dry Reshaping Spray, I thought that it felt really dry and powdery, and was more like a dry and powdery Hairspray rather than a dry and balmy Reshaping Spray.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had sprayed a little bit of it into my Hair, it turned from a dry and powdery Hairspray in to a dry and balmy yet really fine Texturising Spray that set within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hair feeling incredibly silky soft, bouncy and not sticky, but it also left it looking ever so slightly shiny and full of volume for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it kept my Hair in place all day without leaving it feeling crispy and that I could also reshape it throughout the day.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Hairspray Can with a really powerful Spray that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained quite a lot of Chemicals and Perfume, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and floral yet ever so slightly sweet watery scent to it that kind of reminded me of a Woman’s Summer Body Spray.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Salt Spray, I thought that it felt really thin and watery, and was more like a thin and watery Heat Protectant Spray rather than a thin and balmy Salt Spray.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had  sprayed a little bit of it into my Hair, it turned from a thin and watery Heat Protectant Spray into a thin and balmy Salt Spray that set within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hair feeling incredibly silky soft, texturised and full of volume, but it also left it looking really matte, full of body and like I had just been to the Beach for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a Spray Pump Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained quite a lot of Chemicals and Perfume, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and floral yet ever so slightly sweet watery scent to it that kind of reminded me of a Woman’s Summer Body Spray.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a creamy Paste, I thought that it felt incredibly light and creamy ,and was more like a thin and creamy Body Butter rather than a thick and gloopy Paste.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had rubbed a little bit of it into the Palms of my Hands and had started to massage it into my Hair, it turned from a thin and light Body Butter into a thick and creamy Paste that set within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hair feeling incredibly silky soft and texturised, but it also left it looking ever so slightly shiny and full of volume for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it kept my Hair in place all day and that I could still reshape it throughout the day.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained quite a lot of Chemicals and Perfume, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and fruity yet ever so slightly sweet Watermelon scent to it that kind of reminded me of drinking Watermelon Mojitos during Summer.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Paste, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy, and was more like a thick and creamy Day Cream rather than a thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly sticky Paste.

What it did when I used it.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of what this did when I used it, as once I had rubbed a little bit of it into the Palms of my Hands and had massaged it into my Hair, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy Body Butter into a thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly sticky Paste that took quite a while to set.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hair feeling incredibly silky soft and texturised, but it also left it looking really matte and full of volume for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it kept my Hair in place all day without leaving it feeling crispy.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short and wide cylindrical Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s cent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained quite a lot of Chemicals and Perfume, I thought that it had a very strange synthetic chemical scent to it that kind of reminded me of a Tin of Paint.

It’s consistency.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Creme, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly sticky, and was more like an incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly sticky Gel rather than a thick and heavy Creme.

What it did when I used it.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of what this did when I used it, as once I had rubbed a little bit of it between the Palms of my Hands and had massaged it into my Hair, it turned from an incredibly thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly sticky Gel into a thick and gloopy Paste that never actually set.

It’s results.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hair feeling incredibly dry, sticky and crispy, but it also left it looking extremely wet and greasy for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Plastic Tube with a clickable Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Structure by Joico Stylemaker a nine out of ten, the Structure by Joico Beach a nine out of ten, the Structure by Joico Shaper an eight point five out of ten, the Structure by Joico Paste an eight point five out of ten, and the Structure by Joico Glue a five out of ten. I really liked the Structure by Joico Stylemaker, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and floral yet ever so slightly sweet watery scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it didn’t smell so much of Hairspray. I really liked the Structure by Joico Beach, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and floral yet ever so slightly sweet watery scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it’s Spray Pump was a little bit more powerful. I really liked the Structure by Joico Shaper, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and floral yet ever so slightly sweet watery scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was a little bit easier to remove from my Hair. I really liked the Structure by Joico Paste, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and fruity yet ever so slightly sweet Watermelon scent, it’s consistency, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of what it did when I used it. I really wasn’t a massive fan of the Structure by Joico Glue, as I just didn’t like it’s strange synthetic chemical scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, or it’s results.
