Tea Tastes Terrific | Bird and Blend Tea Company Summer 2018 Collection

As you probably already know, I absolutely love discovering new and interesting Tea’s. That’s why when I had heard that Bird and Blend Tea Company  had released their Summer 2018 collection, which includes Eaton Mess, Hibiscus & Mint Presse, Tea & Toast, and Deckchair Dreaming , I obviously had to give one of them a go. Well after browsing their entire website for a good half an hour, I eventually picked up some of the Eaton Mess Tea Bags and a bag of the Tea & Toast Loose Leaf Tea, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Bird and Blend Tea Company say about both of their delicious tasting Teas.

The Bird and Blend Tea Company Eaton Mess Tea Bags.

This blend will put the meringue in your mug! We thought that it was about time that we paid homage to everyone’s favourite British summer dessert. This blend is bursting with smashed strawberries and creamy flavours. Try me cold brewed with freshly cut chunks of Fruit!

Nothing beats the classic breakfast combination of Tea & Toast in the morning! This blend captures it perfectly, with a traditional English breakfast tea base of Indian Assam and Kenyan black tea and a generous spread of sweet raspberry jam to boot!

Their brewing time.

It said that you were supposed to brew these for four minutes at 100ºC, which I thought was the perfect amount of time, as whenever I brewed them for any longer I found that they tasted quite bitter and that whenever I brewed them for any less that they tasted incredibly weak and watery.

Their taste.

I really liked their taste, as I thought that they had a delicious sweet and creamy Raspberry taste to them that made me crave a nice big Bowl of Eaton Mess with loads of fresh Strawberries and lashings of Whipped Cream.

Their packaging.

I really liked their packaging, as they came in a sealed plastic bag inside a very strong and sturdy Cardboard box that kept them incredibly fresh whilst also keeping them safe whilst they were on their way to me. I also really liked the material of the Tea Bags themselves, as they were made out of a really thin yet durable Cotton which meant that they didn’t split apart when I tried to remove one of them from my Cup.

It’s brewing time.

It said that you were supposed to brew it for four minutes at 100ºC, which I thought was the perfect amount of time, as whenever I brewed it for any less I found that it didn’t really taste of much and that whenever I brewed it for any longer that it tasted incredibly sour and bitter.

It’s taste.

I was actually a little bit confused by it’s taste, as even though I really liked it and thought that it went really well with a big plate of buttery Toast. I thought that describing it as tasting like a pot of English Breakfast Tea with a spread of Raspberry Jam wasn’t quite right, as all I could really taste was Black Tea and fresh ripe Apples with a very slight hint of Rose.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a massive resealable Paper Bag which meant that all of the Tea Leaves stayed extremely fresh and didn’t lose any of their flavour.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Bird and Blend Tea Company Eaton Mess Tea Bags a nine out of ten, and the Bird and Blend Tea Company Tea & Toast Loose Leaf Tea a seven point five out of ten. I really liked the Bird and Blend Tea Company Eaton Mess Tea Bags, as I loved their brewing time, their delicious sweet and creamy Raspberry taste, and their extremely secure packaging, but I would absolutely love it if more of their Tea, especially their limited edition collections came in Tea Bags rather than always only being available as a Loose Leaf Tea. I also really liked the Bird and Blend Tea Company Tea & Toast Loose Leaf Tea, as I loved it’s brewing time, it’s delicious yet intriguing fresh Apple taste, and it’s packaging, but I unfortunately just didn’t think that it’s description and it’s name matched up with what it actually tasted like.
