Tea Tastes Terrific | Bird & Blend Tea Company Summer Ice Cream Tea Collection

As you probably already know, I absolutely love discovering new and interesting Teas. That’s why when I had heard that Bird & Blend Tea Company had released their Summer Ice Cream Tea collection, which includes AffogaTea, Butter Brew, Mascarpone & Sour Cherry, and Peach Melba, I obviously had to hop on to their website and pick them all up. Well i’ve been drinking them for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Bird & Blend Tea Company say about all four delicious Teas.

The Bird & Blend Tea Company AffogaTea.

Inspired by the classic Italian Coffee based Dessert, traditionally served as a shot of Espresso over a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. This lush Black Tea is blended with Roast Coffee Beans and Almonds for extra nutty notes, and in true Bird & Blend style we’ve finished this one off with brew, Tea-ful Blue Flower Petals.

Voted back by YOU as part of our Summer collection!

You’re gonna go PotTEA for our Caramel Butter Brew! We’ve combined our favourite British Book/Film series with every British persons favourite Drink, a good ol’ cuppa!

The Bird & Blend Tea Company Mascarpone & Sour Cherry.

Inspired by our favourite Summer Ice Cream flavour, we’ve stirred naturally light & creamy Oolong with tart Hibiscus and garnished it with juicy sweet and sour Morello Cherries.

The Bird & Blend Tea Company Peach Melba.

We love all things peachy here at Bird & Blend Tea Company, so we thought it was about time to pay homage to the classic Summer Dessert!

Traditionally made with Peaches, Raspberry Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream, we’ve blended naturally sweet Rooibos with Vanilla notes & chunks of Peach for a brew that hits the spot!

It’s brewing time.

It said that you were supposed to brew this for four minutes at 100ºC, which I thought was the perfect amount of time, as whenever I brewed it for any less I thought that it tasted incredibly weak, and that whenever I brewed it for any longer that it tasted too much like bitter Black Coffee.

It’s taste.

I really liked it’s taste, as even though i’m not usually a massive fan of Coffee, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly chocolatey Coffee taste to it that kind of reminded me of very luxurious Swiss Coffee Truffles.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a massive resealable Paper Pouch which meant that all of the Tea Leaves stayed extremely fresh and didn’t lose any of their delicious flavour.

It’s taste.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s taste, as even though I thought that it tasted incredibly sweet and creamy, it was just a little bit too sweet for me as it kind of reminded me of if they had blended an entire Jar of Honey with an entire Bag of Black Tea.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a massive resealable Paper Pouch which meant that all of the Tea Leaves stayed extremely fresh and didn’t lose any of their delicious flavour.

It’s brewing time.

It said that you were supposed to brew this for three minutes at 90ºC, which I thought was the perfect amount of time, as whenever I brewed it for any less I thought that it just tasted like really weak Cherry flavoured Water, and that whenever I brewed it for any longer that it tasted so sour that I couldn’t drink it.

It’s taste.

I absolutely loved it’s taste, as even though I was expecting it to have a subtile taste of Cherry to it, it was so strong and sour that it kind of reminded me of if I had just bitten into a perfectly ripened Cherry. I also really liked that it had a very mild sweet and creamy note to it because of the Mascarpone that complimented the Sourness of the Cherries brilliantly.

It’s brewing time.

It said that you were supposed to brew this for between four and five minutes at 100ºC, which I thought was the perfect amount of time, as whenever I brewed it for any less I thought that it just tasted of Water, and that whenever I brewed it for longer that it tasted extremely bitter.

It’s taste.

I did really like it’s taste, but given that it was called Peach Melba, it would have been nice if I had been able to actually taste some of the Peach pieces, as I thought that it tasted really sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly creamy, and kind of reminded me of if they had smothered Vanilla Ice Cream in a layer of very thick Raspberry Sauce.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a massive resealable Paper Pouch which meant that all of the Tea Leaves stayed extremely fresh and didn’t lose any of their delicious flavour.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Bird & Blend Tea Company AffogaTea a nine out of ten, the Bird & Blend Tea Company Butter Brew a six point five out of ten, the Bird & Blend Tea Company Mascarpone & Sour Cherry a nine point five out of ten, and the Bird & Blend Tea Company Peach Melba an eight point five out of ten. I really liked the Bird & Blend Tea Company AffogaTea, as I absolutely loved it’s brewing time, it’s delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly chocolatey Coffee taste, and it’s packaging, but I did find it a little bit strange that they had included Coffee in a Tea. I really liked the Bird & Blend Tea Company Butter Brew as I absolutely loved it’s brewing time, and it’s packaging, but it unfortunately just tasted far too sweet for me. I really liked the Bird & Blend Tea Company Mascarpone & Sour Cherry, as I absolutely loved it’s brewing time, it’s delicious sour yet ever so slightly creamy Cherry taste, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was part of their permanent range. I really liked the Bird & Blend Tea Company Peach Melba, as I absolutely loved it’s brewing time, it’s delicious sweet and fruity yet ever so slightly creamy Raspberry taste, and it’s packaging, but I would have just liked to have been able to actually taste some of the Peach pieces.
