Hello everyone, welcome to a new series I thought I would start, and it’s all about one of my favourite subjects, Tea.
For those of you who don’t know, I am a massive tea drinker, so much so, that my family thinks I have a bit of an addiction.
Basically I wanted to start this series to share my love of tea with you all.
With in this series, i’ll be reviewing tea. I will also be telling you, why I love tea so much.
Here’s the first post. A review of the Twinings Apple and Blueberry Tea.
The first thing, it’s caffeine free. That means you can drink as many cups as you like, and it won’t keep you awake at night.
That’s the caffeine out of the way, let’s get on to the actual review.
The box describes, a tea with notes of crisp orchard apples, mixed with plump blueberries.
Next the smell. It smells fantastic. The smell reminds me of a very indulgent blueberry muffin. You can’t really smell the apples.
Now the taste. The taste is more or less the same as the smell. It tastes of blueberries. The only trouble is, you can’t actually taste the apples. But as I know, apples are usually used as a taste base, as they create the perfect sweetness to other fruits. This is why they are usually used with bitter fruits to bring out their sweetness. You can see this when you look at fruit cordials, for example, it always says blackcurrant and apple. Blackcurrants are usually very sharp and bitter. Add apples, and it brings out their sweetness, as I say, you can’t taste the apples, but it does make for a very refreshing and fruity cup of tea.
As you read more of these posts. You will see, I prefer fruitier tastes, over the minty and bitter tastes. That’s why this blend, is just perfect for me.
That is the taste and smell covered. When brewing this blend, to create the perfect blueberry flavour. Put the tea bag in your cup. Next add your water, but only fill the cup half way up. Leave to sit for between 5 to 10 minutes. Next come back to your cup and add the rest of the water, yes it takes a bit of time, but if you have the time, it tastes fantastic. I should say, if you usually add sugar to your tea, do so, as the blueberry can taste a little bitter, but you don’t add milkk as this is a fruit tea.
If I was the producer of this blend. I would increase the amount of apple. if it says apple on the packaging, then, it should at least have a hint of apple, but other than that, it’s a fantastic blend.
My marks out of 10 for this blend, would have to be 8.5. If it had just a little bit more of an apple taste, it would be a full 10.
That was my first tea review. Have you tried the Twinings Apple and Blueberry tea?, what did you think?. Please let me know your thoughts. You can either do this by, leaving me a comment, using the social tab in my navigation bar, or you can straight up email me using the contact me tab.
