The Ordinary Way To Cleanse Your Face | The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser

I recently ran out of one of my favourite Cleansers and was on the lookout for something different to try. So when I had heard that one of my favourite Skincare brands, The Ordinary had released a Squalane Cleanser, I obviously had to give it a go. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

A short flat conical dark white plastic tube with a white label that has the ordinary squalane cleanser written in bold black writing on it, on a white background.

Here’s what The Ordinary say about their Squalane Cleanser.

A gentle cleansing product formulated to target Makeup removal whilst leaving your Skin feeling smooth and moisturised. The formula incorporates Squalane, alongside other lipophilic esters that are gentle, moisturising and efficient at dissolving Makeup and facial impurities and increasing the spreadability of the product. When rubbed between your Palms for approximately 10 to 30 seconds, the product undergoes an important textural change from a balm-like consistency to a clear oil-like consistency. This allows the emulsifying sucrose esters in the formula to trap and blend the dissolved Makeup and facial impurities with Water for rinsing. Being non-comedogenic and soap-free, this formula is designed to be gentle enough for daily use without over-drying your Skin, making it suitable for all Skin types.

How to use.

Dispense some of the product into your Hands. Rub together to warm the product allowing it to melt into an Oil. Massage well onto dry Skin and rinse with Warm Water. If irritation occurs, cease use and consult a Physician. Use only as directed on unbroken Skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Squalane, Glycerin, Sucrose Stearate, and Ethyl Macadamiate, I thought that it had a very subtile fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly nutty Lime scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent of the Cardboard Boxes that Limes come in at a Supermarket.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Cleanser, I thought that it felt really thick and balmy, and was more like an ever so slightly melted block of Coconut Oil rather than a thic and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Cleanser.

What it did when I used it.

I absolutely loved what this did when I used it, as once I had rubbed a little bit of it between the Palms of my Hands and had started to massage it into my Skin, it turned from an ever so slightly melted block of Coconut Oil into a thin and balmy yet ever so slightly creamy Oil that spread really easily across my Face.

It’s results.

I really liked it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, squeaky clean and moisturised, but it also left it looking really clear, hydrated and much healthier too. I also really liked that it made my Skincare, like my Toner, the many different Serums that I apply and my Moisturiser much easier to apply.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short flattened conical Tube with a clickable Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s very subtile fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly nutty Lime scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was available in a bigger size as 50ml of a Cleanser gets used up fairly quickly.
