Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside | Yankee Candle Coastal Living Collection

Yankee Candle have recently released their Coastal Living collection, which includes Coastal Living, Garden by the Sea, Sea Air, and Driftwood, and being the candle addict that I am, as soon as I had heard that they had been released, I of course  had to pop down to my local Love Aroma, and pick them all up. Well i’ve been burning them all for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Yankee Candle say about all four delicious Seaside scents.

Yankee Candle Coastal Living.

An intriguing mix of salty and sweet, Coastal Flowers carried on a warm Ocean’s breeze. Yankee Candle Coastal Living also contains top notes of Sea Salt, heart notes of Lavender and Marine Flower, and base notes of Moss and Coral Musk.

Yankee Candle Garden by the Sea.

A delicate floral scent with Oceanside blooms and bright bundles of Sea Thrift. Yankee Candle Garden by the Sea also contains top notes of Violet Leaf and Peony Petals, heart notes of Muguet, Sea Thrift, Freesia and Water Lotus, and base notes of White Amber and Sensual Musks.

Yankee Candle Sea Air.

The refreshing air at the water’s edge, laced with Sea Salt, Cyclamen and Rose. Yankee Candle Sea Air also contains top notes of Sea Water and Salty Ocean Air, heart notes of White Cyclamen, Rose, and Beach Flower, and base notes of Sandalwood.

Yankee Candle Driftwood.

Like a salty favourite plucked from the Beach Sand, it’s woody and Sun weathered. Driftwood also contains top notes of Water Lily and Sea Salt, heart notes of Driftwood and Eucalyptus, and base notes of Tonka Bean and crisp Cedar.

It’s scent.

I really liked this, as it kind of reminded me of a day at the Beach. I could definitely smell the Sea Salt, Marine Flower and Lavender, as they were all incredibly strong, and gave the entire fragrance a really nice salty yet sweet floral scent. I couldn’t really smell the Moss or Coral Musk though, but I did think that they added a beautiful masculine scent to the entire fragrance, that reminded me of being at the Beach on a hot Summer’s day.

It’s scent throw.

I wasn’t expecting this to have much of a scent throw, as it didn’t really smell of much when I first smelt it, but it actually filled my room with a really strong fresh and fragrant Seaside scent, that lingered for hours.

It’s burn time.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my wick trimmed, I easily got at least 165 hours of gorgeous Seaside scent out of this.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a fan of this when I first smelt it, but after a while it strangely grew on me, and kind of reminded me of the smell that you get after it’s just poured it down with hot summer’s rain in your garden. I could definitely smell the Violet Leaf, Peony Petals, Muguet, Sea Thrift, Freesia, and Water Lotus, as they were all incredibly strong, and gave the entire fragrance a rather strong floral scent. I couldn’t really smell the White Amber or Sensual Musks though, but I did think that they added a nice woodsy heat to the entire fragrance, which is probably why it eventually grew on me.

It’s scent throw.

With this smelling quite strong in it’s jar, I was kind of expecting it to have quite a strong scent throw, but it was actually rather subtile, and just added a nice floral yet watery scent to my entire room. I also noticed that this was one of those scents that blended into the background, and was only noticeable once I had gone out and had come back into the room again.

It’s burn time.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my wick trimmed, I easily got at least 170 hours of fresh floral scent out of this.

It’s scent.

I think that this had to be my favourite of the entire collection, as I just loved how fresh and watery it smelt. I could definitely smell the Sea Water, Salty Ocean Air, White Cyclamen, and Beach Flower, as they were all extremely strong, and gave the entire fragrance a gorgeous fresh watery scent. I couldn’t really smell the Rose and Sandalwood though, but I did think that they added a really nice woodsy base to the entire fragrance, which just made me love it even more.

It’s scent throw.

After reading it’s fragrance notes, I was kind of expecting this to have a very weak scent throw, but it was actually really strong, and made both my entire room, and the whole of the upstairs of my house smell absolutely gorgeous.

It’s scent.

I think that this one had to be my least favourite of the entire collection, as I just found it incredibly overpowering and sweet. It also really reminded me of Vanilla, which is a scent that I just can’t stand. I could definitely smell the Water Lily, Sea Salt, Eucalyptus, Tonka Bean, and crisp Cedar, as they were all incredibly strong, but I did think that the combination of them all plus the overpowering scent of Driftwood made it smell incredibly sweet.

It’s scent throw.

I was hoping that this would have a really subtile scent throw to it, so I could grow to like it, but it was incredibly strong, and not only filled my entire room but the entire upstairs of my house with an incredibly sweet scent, that after a while started to give me a headache.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my wick trimmed, I easily got at least 160 hours of rich overpowering sweet scent out of this.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Yankee Candle Coastal Living a seven out of ten, the Yankee Candle Garden by the Sea a seven point five out of ten, the Yankee Candle Sea Air, a nine out of ten, and the Yankee Candle Driftwood a six out of ten. I really liked the Yankee Candle Coastal Living, as I loved that it reminded me of being at the Beach with the salty air blowing in my face, and i also really liked the Yankee Candle Garden by the Sea, as I absolutely loved it’s fresh floral scent. I definitely think that the Yankee Candle Sea Air had to be the best out of the entire collection, as it basically embodied everything that I thought the Collection should have been, and as I said, I just didn’t like the Yankee Candle Driftwood, as I found it really overpowering and sweet.

The Yankee Candle definitely has to be the best one, but I’m now trying their Viva Havana collection.
