Watching The World Go By | Yankee Candle Enjoy The Simple Things Collection

Yankee Candle have recently released their Enjoy The Simple Things collection, which includes, Sun-Drenched Apricot Rose, Rainbow Cookie, A Calm & Quiet Place, and Sweet Nothings, and being the Candle addict that I am, as soon as I had heard that they had been released, I obviously had to pop down to my local Love Aroma store and pick them all up. Well i’ve been burning them for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Yankee Candle say about all four delicious scents.

Sun-Drenched Apricot Rose.

A full bloom scent of lush, delightful Apricot and soft petals. Yankee Candle Sun-Drenched Apricot Rose also contains top notes of Sun-Drenched Apricot and Nectarine Blossom, heart notes of Apricot Roses and Gardenia Petals, and base notes of Sheer Musk and Soft Powder.

Rainbow Cookie.

Cookies so light and airy they’re ready to melt in your mouth, filled with Citrus and Peach and sweet Vanilla frosting. Yankee Candle Rainbow Cookie also contains top notes of sweet Orange and creamy Peach, heart notes of Passion Fruit and Butter Cream, and base notes of Vanilla frosting and Coconut.

A Calm & Quiet Place.

A meditative fragrance balanced and scented with gentle Jasmine, a whisper of Patchouli and warm Amber Musk. Yankee Candle A Calm & Quiet Place also contains top notes of Mandarin Leaf, heart notes of Jasmine and Cedarwood, and base notes of Patchouli, Sandalwood and Amber Musk.

Sweet Nothings.

Warm, soft, sweet, like a special whisper just for you. Yankee Candle Sweet Nothings also contains top notes of Cyclamen, heart notes of Lotus Blossom, and base notes of Vanilla, powdery Musk and Amber.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, and definitely think that it had to be my favourite of the entire collection, as even though i’m not usually a massive fan of anything that smells of Rose, because it also contained Apricots, it had more of a fruitier note to it that strangely reminded me of Pink Jelly Babies. I could definitely smell the Sun-Drenched Apricots, Nectarine Blossom, Apricot Rose and Soft Powder, as I thought that they were what gave it it’s delicate fruity yet floral scent. But I couldn’t really smell either the Gardenia Petals or Sheer Musk, as I thought that all of the other scents, especially the Sun-Drenched Apricot and Apricot Rose, kind of overpowered everything a little.

It’s scent throw.

I was actually really surprised by it’s scent throw, as with it containing Rose, I was kind of expecting it to be really powerful and in your face, but it was actually rather delicate, and filled both my room and the entire top floor of my house with a delicate fruity yet floral scent that lasted for hours even after I had blown it out.

It’s burn time.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my wick trimmed, I easily got at least 160 hours of delicate fruity yet floral scent out of it.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent when I first smelt it, as I thought that it smelt incredibly sweet. But after I had burnt it for a little while, it actually started to grow on me, as even though it said that it contained Citrus, Peach and Vanilla, I thought that it kind of reminded me of if they had blended their Christmas Cookie scent with their Vanilla Lime scent. I could definitely smell the Sweet Orange, Creamy Peach, Butter Cream, Vanilla Frosting and Coconut, as I thought that they were what gave it it’s delicious rich and creamy yet fruity scent. But I couldn’t really smell the Passion Fruit, as I thought that all of the other scents kind of overpowered it a little.

It’s scent throw.

I was actually really impressed by it’s scent throw, as with it containing a lot of creamy scents, I was kind of expecting it to smell extremely weak. But it actually smelt really powerful, and filled both my room and the entire top floor of my house with a rich and creamy yet fruity scent that made me crave a slice of Cake whenever I burnt it.

It’s burn time.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my wick trimmed ,I easily got at least 155 hours of delicious rich and creamy yet fruity scent out of it.

It’s scent.

I again wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent when I first smelt it, as I thought that it smelt incredibly sweet. But after I had burnt it for a little while, it actually started to grow on me, as even though it contained Mandarin Leaf, it had a deep and musky masculine scent to it that kind of reminded me of the Lush Lord of Misrule Shower Gel. I could definitely smell the Jasmine, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Amber Musk, as I thought that they were what gave it it’s deep and musky masculine scent. But I couldn’t really smell the Mandarin Leaf, as I thought that all of the other scents kind of overpowered it a little.

It’s scent throw.

I actually really liked it’s scent throw, as even though this didn’t fill the entire top floor of my house like some other Candles have done, it did fill my room with a deep and musky masculine scent that lasted for hours even after I had blown it out.

It’s scent.

I definitely think that this had to be my least favourite of the entire collection, as I thought that it smelt incredibly sickly sweet, and that it kind of reminded me of a very strong women’s perfume. I could definitely smell the Cyclamen, Vanilla, Powdery Musk and Amber, as I thought that they were what gave it it’s extremely sickly sweet scent. But I couldn’t really smell the Lotus Blossom, as I thought that all of the other scents kind of overpowered it a little.

It’s scent throw.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent throw, as even though it filled both my room and the entire top floor of my house with it’s sickly sweet scent, I found that it gave me a little bit of a headache after about an hour of me burning it.

It’s burn time.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Yankee Candle Sun-Drenched Apricot Rose a nine out of ten, the Yankee Candle Rainbow Cookie an eight point five out of ten, the Yankee Candle A Calm &amp& Quiet Place a seven point five out of ten, and the Yankee Candle Sweet Nothings a five out of ten. I absolutely loved the Yankee Candle Sun-Drenched Apricot Rose, as I really liked that it filled both my room and the entire top floor of my house with it’s delicate fruity yet floral scent. I really liked the Yankee Candle Rainbow Cookie as I loved that it filled both my room and the entire top floor of my house with it’s rich and creamy yet fruity scent, but I would have loved it to have smelt a little bit more fruitier. I also really liked the Yankee Candle A Calm & Quiet Place, as I really liked it’s deep musky and masculine scent, but I don’t think that it would be to everyone’s taste as I did think that it smelt a little bit on the sweet side. I unfortunately just wasn’t a fan of the Yankee Candle Sweet Nothings though, as I thought that it smelt incredibly sickly sweet, and that it gave me a headache whenever I burnt it.
