Keeping It Pure | Yankee Candle Pure Essence Collection 2017

Yankee Candle have recently added three new scents to their much loved Pure Essence collection that includes Wild MintCherry Blossom, and Linden Tree, and being the candle addict that I am, as soon as I had heard that they had been released, I of course had to pop down to my local Love Aroma and pick them all up. Well i’ve been burning them for a little wile now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Yankee Candle say about the Wild Mint, Cherry Blossom, and Linden Tree.

Yankee Candle Wild Mint… Just picked Wild Mint leaves, fresh, crisp, cool, and bracing. Yankee Candle Wild Mint also contains top notes of Wild Mint leaves and Spearmint leaves, heart notes of fresh Peppermint, and base notes of Musk and Sandalwood.
Yankee Candle Cherry Blossom… An enchanting armful of Spring’s freshest blooms, that turns any room pink and happy. Yankee Candle Cherry Blossom also contains top notes of Cherry, heart notes of Rose, Cherry Blossom, and Jasmine, and base notes of powdery Musk and Sandalwood.
Yankee Candle Linden Tree… fresh blooming Linden enjoyed through the green leafy sunlight of a quiet day. Yankee Candle Linden Tree also contains top notes of Hosta leaves and Linden Blossom, heart notes of Verburnum, and base notes of Musk and Cedarwood.

This most definitely had to be my favourite of the three, as I just loved it’s incredibly fresh and crisp scent. I can’t usually stand the smell of mint because I tend to find it too strong, and even though this was extremely strong, I actually strangely rather liked it, and found it really uplifting. I also thought that this really reminded me of when I pick a fresh Mint leaf off of the little Mint plant in my kitchen.

It’s scent throw.

I was expecting this to fill my room with an incredibly strong scent of Mint, especially with it containing three different types of mint, and smelling so strong in it’s jar, but it was actually rather subtile, and just added a touch of scent to both my room and the entire top floor of my house.

It’s burn time.

It says that you’re supposed to get 150 hours of burn time out of this, but because I always kept my wick trimmed, I easily got at least 180 hours of delicious mint smelling goodness out of this.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a fan of this when I first smelt it in it’s jar, but once I had burnt it, I actually rather liked it. I was expecting it to smell incredibly floral, which it did, but because of the top notes of Cherry, it actually smelt really fresh and fruity. I also thought that Yankee Candle’s description of this was really correct, as every time I lit it, it did make me feel incredibly happy, and reminded me of when I sit in my Grandparents garden in early Spring and marvel at the white leaves on their Cherry Blossom tree.

It’s scent throw.

I was again expecting this to fill my room with an incredibly strong floral scent, especially with it smelling so strong in it’s jar, but it was actually rather subtile, and just added a nice kiss of floral scent to my entire room. It didn’t fill the entire top floor of my house like some other candles have done, but it did fill my room with a really nice floral, fresh, and fruity scent.

It’s burn time.

It says that you’re supposed to get 150 hours of burn time out of this, but because I always kept my wick trimmed, I easily got 180 hours of incredible floral scent out of this.

It’s scent.

I’m not entirely sure what a Linden Tree is supposed to smell like, but this just smelt incredibly earthy and masculine. I’m also not sure what a Hosta leaf is either, but i’m guessing that paired with the Linden Blossom is what gave it it’s earthy scent, and the Musk was what gave it it’s masculine scent. What ever a Linden Tree is, I loved this, and it strangely really reminded me of the smell of when trees are getting their leaves back in the first throws of Spring.

It’s scent throw.

This again didn’t have the strongest of scent throws, but it did give my room and the entire top floor of my house a nice touch of earthy yet masculine Spring scent, that lasted for hours.

It’s burn time.

It says that you’re supposed to get 150 hours out of this, but because I always kept my wick trimmed, I easily got at least 180 hours of gorgeous earthy yet masculine Spring scent out of this.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Yankee Candle Wild Mint a nine point five out of ten, the Yankee Candle Cherry Blossom a nine out of ten, and the Yankee Candle Linden Tree a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved all three, but I think the stand out scent for me had to be the Yankee Candle Wild Mint, as I just loved how fresh and crisp it was. I also  really liked both the Yankee Candle Cherry Blossom and Yankee Candle Linden Tree, as I thought that they were both great scents that are perfect for this time of the year. I would have preferred them all to have a much stronger scent throw, but other than that, I thought that they were a great addition to Yankee Candle’s Pure Essence collection.
If you would like to check out any of the three new scents for yourselves, then you can either pop down to your local Love Aroma or Yankee Candle store, buy them online from Love Aroma here, or you can buy them online from Yankee Candle here.
