From Sun Up To Sun Down | Davidoff Horizon

I always like to change up my fragrance, and when I was out shopping the other week, a random shopping assistant asked me if I would like a sprits of the new Davidoff Horizon. I said yes, and the rest, as they say was history. I had to have it, and when I was out trying to kill time before an event I was attending, I popped into The Perfume Shop and bought it. After wearing it for a little while now, I thought I would tell you what I think of it.

Here’s what Davidoff say about their gorgeous new fragrance.
Davidoff Horizon Horizon is  inspired by the strength of nature, and captures the tension between the Earth and the sky. A woody aromatic scent revealing a never ending refreshing blow, grounded in powerful masculinity. Davidoff Horizon begins with airy top notes of energising Rosemary and Ginger, giving a vibrant dimension of essention and discovery. In contrast, the middle and base notes bring strong, down to earth Vetiver and Virginia Cedarwood, wrapped in rich black Cocoa Absolute, to inject texture, warmth, and sensuality.

Top Notes.

Grapefruit, Mandarin, Rosemary, and Ginger.

Heart Notes.

Cedar, Nutmeg, Patchouli, Sesame, and Pepper.

Base Notes.

Cocoa, and Vetiver.

I definitely get what they mean when they say its inspired by nature, and the tension between the Earth and the sky. The fresh fruity Grapefruit and Mandarin really off set the deeper and spicier Ginger and Rosemary. It does take quite a long time for the heart notes to work themselves threw the top notes, which I actually rather like as I was after a bright and fresh summer fragrance. I think the woody heart notes compliment the fresh and zesty top notes brilliantly, as it creates the perfect masculine scent. Even though the heart notes are quite woody and strong, they never overtake the top notes. Which as i’ve already said, makes for the perfect Summer scent.

Even though it says it has base notes of Cocoa, and Vetiver, I can’t really smell them. They just blend into the background. They just add to the overall masculine scent.

It is an incredibly long wearing fragrance, and even though the top, heart, and base notes eventually blend together, the scent never leaves the skin. I put it on at about eight thirty in the morning, and I could still smell it on me when I rolled into bed at midnight, so as you can see, it lasts an extremely long time.

I really like the bottle. It’s extremely modern with loads of straight lines, but still extremely destinctive. The lid is a little hard to get on and off, but once you start to use it, it does gets easier. For some reason there’s a strange metal bar that you have to flip before you spray anything, which I actually quite like. It’s a really nice added touch.

Overall I would have to rate the Davidoff Horizon a nine point five out of ten. I really like it, and it’s the perfect summer fragrance. It’s not too floral, not overly woody, and extremely fruity, which creates the perfect summer men’s fragrance.

If you would like to check out Davidoff Horizon for yourself, then you can either pop into your local The Perfume Shop, or you can buy it online, here.

  1. I haven’t smelt this one, but I can get a decent idea from the notes. I may have to get over my hatred of Davidoff aftershaves and give this one a whirl. Stephen
