Shine The Spotlight | July 2016 | Superb Customer Service

It’s the first Monday of the month, and you all know what that means, Yes! It’s Shine The Spotlight time, and this month it’s all about the brands, and people within those brands that I have received outstanding customer service from. Anyway, enough of me rambling, let’s begin.

First up has to be, The Yorkshire Soap Company.

The Yorkshire Soap Company, is a beauty and bath products brand that sells and creates bath bombs, soap, shampoo, candles, and loads of other delicious smelling things, located in York, Hebden Bridge, Leeds, and Beverley. I usually shop in the Leeds branch, and all the staff are amazing and always help me pick the most gorgeous smelling things. Even though all the staff are amazing, I do have to give a special mention to Louise, who is incredibly helpful, and who always comes and says hi whenever i’m in store. If you’re looking for amazing smelling things for your home and bathroom, and are looking for friendly and attentive staff, then The Yorkshire Soap Company is for you.

Next up has to be, The Body Shop.

The Body Shop, for anyone who doesn’t know, sells gorgeous smelling things for your body, hair, and skin like shower gel, shampoo, and of course their world famous body butters. I usually shop in their Leeds branch, and all of their staff are amazing and always greet me with a smile. As i’ve already said the staff are all amazing, but I do have to give a special mention to Tahira, Rachel, Tom, and Anisa, who as well as always being happy to help me, also give great advice on what to buy. If you’re looking for gorgeous smelling body, hair and home products, then The Body Shop is for you.

Next up has to be, Whittard of Chelsea.

Whittard of Chelsea, sells a wide range of tasty Tea, Coffee, and hot chocolate. As well as selling some of the more traditional flavours, they also have a wide range of speciality flavours like Sticky Toffee Pudding. I usually shop at the Leeds branch, and all of the staff are incredible. They all know their stuff about what they’re selling, and give fantastic recommendations because they’ve drank most of it themselves. I love going in and just buying what they recommend as even if I don’t like something they’ve recommended, I can always bring it back. If you’re looking for great customer service, and some great recommendations on what to drink, then Whittard of Chelsea is for you.

Next up has to be, Cineworld Cinemas.

Cineworld Cinemas, is a chain of UK Cinemas offering the latest in amazing films. I usually visit the Bradford branch, which has amazing customer service. With me being visually impaired, I get a discount off my ticket, and a little bit of special treatment. That includes being shown to my seat and being guided anywhere else I need to go before the film begins, like the concession stands. The staff are incredibly friendly and extremely attentive, and always make me feel like royalty. If you’re looking for friendly and attentive staff when you go to see that new blockbuster, then Cineworld Cinemas is for you.

The last place I want to mention in this months Shine The Spotlight, has to be, Lush.

Lush, sells eco-friendly and animal friendly beauty and bath products like bath bombs, shower gels, and even makeup. I usually shop in either the Leeds or York branch, but I have also visited the Manchester branch, and they are all extremely friendly, helpful, and know what they’re talking about. They also always give me the best recommendations on what I should buy. If you’re unsure about anything, they also let you try them out in store, for instance if you see a bath bomb you like but think the smell may be a little weak, you can try it out in one of the many buckets around the store. If you’re looking for great smelling eco-friendly, animal friendly bath products, and friendly helpful staff, then Lush is for you.

That my lovely friends, brings us to the end of another Shine The Spotlight.

  1. Hello Luke,

Very interesting post as usual. In particular I was interested in the Cineworld portion. I noticed that you did not mention anything about audio description in movies.

Here in California and across many states audio description is quite widely available. On arrival at the cinema I buy my ticket and go to customer service and pick-up an audio description headset. If I am particularly lucky I will get a member of staff who doesn’t offer me a set of closed caption glasses, LOL. Properly set up audio description allows us to here things like descriptions of actions on screen or translation of any subtitles in the movie.

Are these services available in Britain?

    Thanks

    William
