Sparkle Sparkle!| Yankee Candle Holiday Sparkle Collection

Yankee Candle have recently released their Holiday Sparkle collection, which includes, Frosty Gingerbread, Glittering Star, Icy Blue Spruce, and Winter Wonder, and being the Candle addict that I am, as soon as I had heard that they had been released, I obviously had to hop onto their website and pick them all up. Well i’ve been burning them for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Yankee Candle say about all four delicious Festive Scents.

Yankee Candle Frosty Gingerbread.

Gingerbread freshly frosted, a holiday delight that fills any room with welcome and warmth. Yankee Candle Frosty Gingerbread also contains top notes of Cinnamon, Vanilla Frosting and Nutmeg, heart notes of Ginger and Clove, and base notes of Gingerbread and Sugar.

Yankee Candle Glittering Star.

A shimmering fragrance that gives Sandalwood a sparkle with Sugar, Plum and Ginger. Yankee Candle Glittering Star also contains top notes of Sparkling Ginger and Cassis, heart notes of Sugar Plum and Nutmeg, and base notes of Patchouli, Amber, Guaiacwood and Sandalwood.

Yankee Candle Icy Blue Spruce.

A fresh breath of Winter Forest, Juniper Berries, Blue Spruce, Spearmint and Leaves. Yankee Candle Icy Blue Spruce also contains top notes of fresh Juniper and Spearmint Leaves, heart notes of Winter Spruce, Blackcurrant and Snow Covered Cedar, and base notes of Fur Balsam and Powdery Musk.

Yankee Candle Winter Wonder.

A dazzling Winter mix of Champagne and Citrus, Vanilla and Silver Balsam. Yankee Candle Winter Wonder also contains top notes of Frozen Lemon and Frost Air, heart notes of Champagne Accord and Silver Balsam, and base notes of Vanilla and Sheer Musk.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Vanilla Frosting, Clove, and Sugar, I thought that it had a delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly sweet Ginger scent to it that kind of reminded me of Gingerbread fresh out of the oven. I could definitely smell the Cinnamon, Ginger, Clove, Gingerbread, and Sugar, as I thought that they were all what gave it it’s delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly sweet Ginger scent, but I couldn’t really smell any of the Vanilla Frosting, as I thought that all of the other scents kind of overpowered it a little.

It’s scent throw.

I absolutely loved it’s scent throw, as this managed to fill both my room and the entire top floor of my House with it’s delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly sweet Ginger scent that lasted for hours even after I had blown it out.

It’s burn time.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my Wick trimmed, I easily got at least 160 hours of delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly sweet Ginger scent out of it.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Sparkling Ginger, Cassis, and Sugar Plum, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and fruity yet ever so slightly woodsy Plum scent to it that kind of reminded me of if they had blended their Maple Gingerbread scent with Plum Juice. I could definitely smell the Sparkling Ginger, Sugar Plum, Nutmeg, Patchouli, Guaiacwood, and Sandalwood, as I thought that they were all what gave it it’s delicious fresh and fruity yet ever so slightly woodsy Plum scent, but I couldn’t really smell any of the Cassis or Amber, as I thought that all of the other scents kind of overpowered them a little.

It’s scent throw.

I was actually really disappointed with it’s scent throw, as even though I thought that it smelt really strong in it’s Jar, it was unfortunately one of those scents that I only really ever noticed once I had gone out of and had come back into the room again.

It’s burn time.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my Wick trimmed, I easily got at least 155 hours of delicious fresh and fruity yet ever so slightly woodsy Plum scent out of it.

It’s scent.

I definitely think that this had to be my least favourite of the entire collection, as even though it contained Spearmint Leaves, Blackcurrant, and Powdery Musk, I thought that it had a very strange fresh and floral yet ever so slightly boozy Berry scent to it that kind of reminded me of Gin & Tonic blended with Raspberry Juice. I could definitely smell the fresh Juniper, Spearmint Leaves, Winter Spruce, Blackcurrant, and Fir Balsam, as I thought that they were what gave it it’s very strange fresh and floral yet ever so slightly boozy Berry scent, but I couldn’t really smell any of the Snow Covered Cedar or Powdery Musk, as I thought that all of the other scents kind of overpowered them a little.

It’s scent throw.

I was actually really disappointed with it’s scent throw, as with me not being a massive fan of it’s scent, I was kind of hoping that it would have a really subtile scent throw so that I would like it a little bit more, but unfortunately it didn’t, as it managed to fill both my room and the entire top floor of my House with it’s very strange fresh and floral yet ever so slightly boozy Berry scent that lasted for hours even after I had blown it out.

It’s scent.

I actually really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Frozen Lemon and Champagne Accord, I thought that it had a delicious sweet yet ever so slightly creamy Minty scent to it that kind of reminded me of Peppermint Icing. I could definitely smell the Frozen Lemon, Champagne Accord, Silver Balsam, and Vanilla, as I thought that they were all what gave it it’s delicious sweet yet ever so slightly creamy Minty scent, but I couldn’t really smell any of the Frost Air or Sheer Musk, as I thought that all of the other scents kind of overpowered them a little.

It’s scent throw.

I really liked it’s scent throw, as even though I thought that it smelt quite subtile and watery in it’s Jar, it actually managed to fill both my room and the entire top floor of my House with it’s sweet yet ever so slightly creamy Minty scent that lasted for hours even after I had blown it out.

It’s burn time.

It said that you were supposed to get up to 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my Wick trimmed, I easily got at least 160 hours of delicious sweet yet ever so slightly creamy Minty scent out of it.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Yankee Candle Frosty Gingerbread a nine out of ten, the Yankee Candle Glittering Star an eight point five out of ten, the Yankee Candle Icy Blue Spruce a seven out of ten, and the Yankee Candle Winter Wonder a nine out of ten. I really liked the Yankee Candle Frosty Gingerbread, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly Ginger scent, it’s really powerful scent throw, and it’s burn time, but I would have just preferred it to have not smell so deep and musky. I really liked the Yankee Candle Glittering Star, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and fruity yet ever so slightly woodsy Plum scent, it’s extremely powerful scent throw, and it’s burn time, but I would have just preferred it to have smelt a little bit woodsier. I really liked the Yankee Candle Icy Blue Spruce, as I absolutely loved it’s really powerful scent throw, and it’s burn time, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange fresh and floral yet ever so slightly boozy Berry scent. I really liked the Yankee Candle Winter Wonder, as I absolutely loved it’s sweet yet ever so slightly creamy Minty scent, it’s really powerful scent throw, and it’s burn time, but I just couldn’t get my head around the fact that it smelt of Mint even though it didn’t contain any actual Mint.
