I always love discovering new and interesting Underwear Brands, especially if they aim to promote Male Body Positivity in some way, shape or form. That’s why when I saw that Above Average had released a range of Jockstraps and Socks with £1 of every purchase going to help LGBTQ+ and Mental Health Charities whilst I was scrolling through Instagram a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to hop on to their Website and check everything out. Well after scrolling through their Website for a good half an hour, I eventually picked up a Monochrome Black Jockstrap, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what Above Average say about their Monochrome Black Jockstrap.
Our classic Monochrome Jock has a super-soft Pouch made from 95% Cotton and 5% Spandex allowing it stretch and ensuring a comfortable fit.
Our wide 6cm Waistband is designed to hug you around the Waist and prevent folding or twisting so you always look your best.
The signature Branded Label along the back along with contrasting Straps will frame your Bum perfectly.
It’s material.
I absolutely loved it’s material, as even though it was made from 95% Cotton and 5% Spandex, I thought that it felt incredibly soft against my Skin, and was more like it was made out of an incredibly silky soft and stretchy yet ever so slightly fluffy Cotton, Spandex and Polyamide blend rather than a thick and fluffy yet ever so slightly stretchy Cotton and Spandex blend..
Its size.
I really liked it’s size, as even though I have quite a wide sized Waist, I found that Extra Large fitted me like a Glove and didn’t move around or dig into my Skin whilst I was wearing it.
It’s support.
I absolutely loved how well this supported me, as it’s Pouch cupped and lifted my Balls and kept them in one place so that they didn’t move around or mean that I had to keep readjusting my Underwear. I also really liked that because of it’s wide Waistband and it’s really thin Leg Straps , that it felt really comfy to wear and also managed to make me look a little bit bigger than I actually am too.
It’s packaging.
I really liked its packaging, as this came in a short rectangular Padded Envelope that kept it really fresh until I was ready to start wearing it.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Above Average Monochrome Black Jockstrap a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly silky soft and stretchy yet ever so slightly fluffy material, it’s size, it’s support, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was available in some other colours, like Navy, Red, or maybe even Yellow.
