If i’m totally honest, Winter isn’t really my favourite time of the year, as it’s always freezing cold and gets pitch black at three o’clock in the evening. One of the things I do like about Winter though, has to be all of the different scents that it brings with it, and I thought that I would tell you five of my favourite scents of Winter.

Anyway, that’s enough of me rambling, here’s my five favourite scents of Winter.

1. The smell of Cold Air.

I know that this sounds strange, but I love the smell of Cold Air, especially after it’s just been raining or snowing as all of the Air around my Village tends to get this very icy and fresh yet ever so slightly metallic watery scent to it that I think smells absolutely incredible.

2. The smell of Pine.

I do agree that the scent of Pine can get a little bit overwhelming, especially at Christmas as everyone seems to be either burning or spraying it nonstop to make everywhere smell like a giant Christmas Tree. But I do like it in small quantities, as it always reminds me of walking through a Forest on a cold Winter’s Day.

3. The smell of Alcohol.

I know that this is another strange one, but as there are about ten different Pubs dotted around my Village, the smell of Alcohol seems to waft out into the Street and mixes with the really cold Air to create a very delicious boozy scent that I find strangely comforting.

4. The smell of Hot Chocolate.

I love drinking a nice big Mug of Hot chocolate when it’s cold outside. But during Winter, the smell of Hot Chocolate is slightly amplified as every Cafe, Coffee Shop and Restaurant on the Planet seems to be serving it and the smell of Chocolate always wafts out onto the Street and mixes with the cold Air to create a very indulgent and warming chocolatey scent that I just can’t get enough of.

5. The smell of Meat being roasted.

I love all of the Food that Winter brings with it, like thick and stodgy Pies, Stews, Casseroles, and even Meat being roasted in the Oven, especially at Christmas. But the smell of Meat being roasted in the Oven on a Sunday Afternoon that fills the House with it’s warm and comforting smell is just delicious and is probably one of the only things that gets me through Winter.

I have a lot of other favourite scents of Winter, but I just thought that I would tell you five of them.
