Even though I use some kind of Chemical Exfoliant pretty much every day, I also like to occasionally use some kind of Chemical Peel whenever my Skin is feeling a little bit rough or looking a bit on the dull side, as I absolutely love the feeling of silky soft, smooth and firmer-feeling Skin. That’s why when I saw that Beauty Bay had released a The Hydration Edit that contained a Tube of the Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx® Peeling Gel whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

How to use.

Apply a generous amount to clean, dry Skin. Gently massage in a circular motion to visibly exfoliate. Rinse well with Water. For extra Enzymatic exfoliation, leave on for one to five minutes before rinsing. Use one to three times a week depending on Skin sensitivity.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Polyethylene Glycol, Cellulose, Butylene Glycol, Sorbitol, R-Bacillus Licheniformis Aeradinase, Calcium Alginate, Pomegranate Fruit Ferment Extract, Pineapple Fruit Ferment Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerine, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Isopropyl Myristate, Mica, Phenoxyethanol, and CI 77019, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly tropical Papaya and Pineapple scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you make a Papaya and Pineapple Smoothie.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Peeling Gel, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery Shower Gel rather than a thin and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery Peeling Gel.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery Shower Gel into a thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Peeling Gel that set within a matter of seconds. I also really liked that as I was removing it from my Skin, that it dislodged any Dead Skin Cells that were on my Face into little particles so that I knew that it was actually doing it’s job.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky smooth, squeaky clean, soft, refreshed, firmer, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for at least an entire 24 hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall conical Plastic Tube with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx® Peeling Gel a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and zesty yet ever so slightly tropical Papaya and Pineapple scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just can’t justify spending £40 on a Peeling Gel, as I think that there are a lot of other Peeling Gels currently on the Market that do a similar job for a lot less money.
