I definitely think that Lime, Basil and Mandarin has to be one of my favourite ever scent combinations. That’s why when I had heard that Primark had released a Mandarin & Basil Eau De Parfum as part of their My Private Collection, I of course had to pop down to my local Primark store and check it out. Well i’ve been wearing it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

Here’s what Primark say about their delicious smelling fragrance.
A soft breeze flowing through a sunlit Sky. Sparkling Mandarin and Bergamot unite with peppery Basil and Pine Needle for an aromatic and refreshing Citrus scent.
It’s scent.
I absolutely loved it’s scent, as once I had sprayed a little bit of it onto my Skin, I got an immensely strong burst of Basil, Bergamot and Pine Needle, and then after about five minutes I got a very strong burst of Mandarin that eventually dried down to create a gorgeous fresh and citrusy yet earthy masculine scent, that kind of reminded me of a cross between Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin, and Davidoff Horizon. I could definitely smell the Mandarin, Basil, Bergamot, and Pine Needle, as I thought that they all smelt incredibly strong, and blended together to create a gorgeous fresh and Citrusy yet earthy masculine scent. But I did think that the Pine Needle could have done with smelling a little bit stronger, as once the Mandarin was released it just faded into the background.
It’s longevity.
I really liked how long this lasted on my Skin, as I sprayed a spray on each wrist and one on my neck when I was getting ready at about eight o’clock in the morning, and I could still faintly smell it on my skin when I rolled into Bed at about midnight.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a wide rectangular glass bottle with a really thick plastic lid that looked beautiful sat on my beauty shelves. I also really liked the box that the bottle came in, as it came in a really thick cardboard box with grooves all over it that I thought felt really high end.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Primark My Private Collection Mandarin & Basil Eau De Parfum a nine point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and citrusy yet earthy masculine scent, it’s longevity, and it’s packaging, but I did think that the Pine Needle could have done with smelling a little bit stronger.
I love that Primark have released a range of fragrances, and i’ll definitely be picking up a few more of the collection very soon, but I would absolutely love them to release a few more products with the same scents, like maybe a Shower Gel or a Candle.
