See It In A Boy’s Eyes | The TV Body Shameing Comments

Hi all my wonderful readers. I hope you’re all doing well.

I wanted to wait a little while before posting this.

A few weeks ago, a certain TV personality, i’m not going to name her because I don’t think she deserves the air time said quite a few extremely controversial comments on a certain midday chat show. Quite a lot of my fellow bloggers are outraged at her comments, and quite rightly so. Her comments I believe were directed at mainly women but her comments can effect both men and women.

I’ve seen what a lot of the female blogging community have to say on the matter, but I thought I would give you a male’s perspective on the matter.

All of her comments were outrageous, but the one that has people really furious was that she thought high street retailers shouldn’t sell clothes below a size 6 or above a size 20.

Her comments have quite rightly gotten people a little hot under the collar. She also said that stores shouldn’t facilitate people living an unhealthy lifestyle.

This is rediculous. For one, she hasn’t taken into consideration that it is NOT a choice for some people. They might have an underline issue. You can’t just stick many different “facits” to an issue under one blanket.

Now if you’ve seen any of my Outfit of the Day posts, you will notice I am not the smallest of people. I love clothes, but under her rules I would be wearing a bin liner.

I love wearing nice clothes, and yes sometimes it’s harder to find things that fit, but i’m ok with that.

Now yes i would love to be leaner and fitter but after trying for years, and trying many different diets it just doesn’t work for me. I eat fairly healthy, and yes I have the occasional slip up, but i’m ok with my size.

Overall I believe she was absolutely stupid and niave, and we’ll see wether she still believes her comments when she baloons to a size 25. Trust me everyone gets what’s coming to them one way or another.

We all need to stop concentrating on FAT or THIN, and learn to love all different sizes and shapes. So what if someone is on the larger size, that doesn’t make them any less of a person.

I believe that people in the media should be promoting different shapes and sizes, not putting them down.

I could be wrong. What do you think? Were her comments outrageous, or exactly what people needed to hear? Please let me know down below.

  1. Honestly, I don’t know who you are referring to here, but this person sounds incredibly idiotic

I totally agree with you–I think the media needs to be more conscientious about what they prompt and how they present it.
