A couple of weeks ago, both me and Jamie were very kindly invited down to The Body Shop York to come and check out all of their delicious smelling Christmas 2022 range, and after having an amazing time checking everything out, I thought that I would tell you all about it as well as what I thought of some of the range.

What happened when I visited The Body Shop York?
Once we had finally arrived in York, and had done a little bit of Shopping, we eventually headed to The Body Shop York, which is located opposite Primark inside the Coppergate Shopping Centre on Coppergate Walk in York City Centre.
Then once we had walked into the extremely bright and spacious store, we were very kindly greeted by one of their very friendly Staff Members, who said hi and asked us if we were ok. We said hi back, and that yes we were, and after a couple of seconds of us all chatting, she said that she hoped we had a great evening and that we could go on through.

Then once we had wandered around for a couple of minutes, another one of their very friendly Staff Members asked us if we would like a Drink, to which I of course said yes to, before she took us over to a massive Table that had all of this years delicious smelling Christmas range on, including both of the Spiced Orange and Wild Pine ranges in all of their different formats, including the Bath Bombs, the Body Butters, the Eau De Toilettes, and the Shower Gels, before she started to take us through both amazing ranges.
She first started by telling us all about the Spiced Orange range, including that it contains notes of Orange, Vanilla, Cinnamon, and Ginger and that it’s available in either a Bath Bomb, a Body Butter, a Body Scrub, a Body Yoghurt, an Eau De Toilette, a Hand Balm, or a Shower Gel. She then sprayed a little bit of the Spiced Orange Eau De Toilette on to my Wrist so that I could smell exactly what it smelt like. Then after we had given the Spiced Orange range a good sniff, she started telling us all about the Wild Pine range, including that it contains notes of Pine, Mint, and Sandalwood, and that it’s available in either a Bath Bomb, a Body Butter, a Body Lotion to Oil, a Body Scrub, an Eau De Toilette, a Hand Balm, or a Shower Gel. She then sprayed a little bit of the Wild Pine Eau De Toilette on to my Wrist so that I could smell exactly what it smelt like too.

Then once she had finished showing us everything from both delicious smelling ranges, She started to tell us all about the Gift Sets that they had on offer this year, including their Advent Calendars and what was inside them, the Love & Lather Soap Collection, and the Soothe and Smooth Almond Big Gift Set as it’s now 100% Vegan. She then also told us all about their iconic Body Butters including that they use Community Fair Trade Shea Butter from Ghana, that they’ve helped to provide a liveable wage to the Women who harvest it as well as funding for their Villages including Childcare, Schools and Hospitals, and that this year some of the Gift Sets have a QR Code on the back of them so that you can learn all about where the ingredients come from and how they help the Women and community that source them.
Then once she had finished telling us all about the Gift Sets and how they source some of their ingredients, she started to tell us all about their Christmas 2022 Charity Appeal including that they’re working with Children On The Edge which aims to support some of the most marginalised Children around the World. They also aim to give them a safe space so that they can learn, play, and thrive in peace. She also told us that they’ll be donating 5p from every Sale of their Christmas Gift Sets to Children On The Edge to help them continue their vital work.

Then once she had finished telling us all about their Christmas Charity Appeal, we just wandered around for a little while and checked out some of their other amazing ranges, including their Vitamin C range which contains a Vitamin C Glow Cleansing Polish, a Vitamin C Glow Revealing Serum, and a Vitamin C Overnight Glow Revealing Mask. We also checked out some of their Wellbeing range which includes three miniature ranges, Breathe, Boost, and Sleep, and contains a range of Essential Oils to help you invigorate, rebalance and destress your Mind.

We then wandered over to their Haircare Department as they’ve had lots of new releases lately that I hadn’t checked out yet, including their Ginger Hair & Scalp Scrub that has been specifically designed for dry and flaky Scalps, their Jamaican Black Castor Oil range that has been specifically designed for Black and Curly Hair, their Shea Intense Repair range that has been specifically designed for damaged Hair, their Moringa Shine & Protection range that has been specially designed for dull and lacklustre Hair, and their Tea Tree Purifying & Balancing range that has been specifically designed for Oily Hair & Scalps.
Then after we had been wandering around for quite a while the evening started to draw to a close, so we decided that it was time to head off. So we said our thank you’s and goodbyes to some of the really friendly staff Members that we had met throughout the evening, and headed off back into York to catch our Train. But before we could leave, one of the really nice Staff Members handed us a little Goodie Bag containing a Tube of their Spiced Orange Hand Balm, a Tube of their Wild Pine Hand Balm, a Pink Clay Facial Konjac Sponge, one of their Vitamin E Quench Sheet Masks, and a Robin Shower Sponge.
I had a fantastic time checking out everything that will be on offer this Christmas at The Body Shop York, and if you would like to find out more about them, including their 2022 Charity appeal, then you can find them online here.
I would just like to thank The Body Shop York for having both me and Jamie, and for hosting such a fantastic evening.
What I thought of some of the Christmas 2022 range.
As I said, I was very kindly given a Tube of the Spiced Orange Hand Balm and a Tube of the Wild Pine Hand Balm inside my Goodie Bag, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

The Body Shop Spiced Orange Hand Balm.
It’s scent.
I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Shea Butter, Triethyl Citrate, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-3 Distearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cocoa Seed Butter, Sunflower Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Fragrance, Sweet Almond Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone, Sesame Seed Oil, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Caprylyl Glycol, Limonene, Orange Fruit Water, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol, Citric Acid, Eugenol, Linalool, Citral, Cinnamal, CI 19140/Yellow 5, and CI 14700/Red 4, I thought that it had a delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly zesty Orange scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you make a Pomander at Christmas.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Hand Balm, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and balmy yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and balmy yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Balm rather than a thick and greasy yet ever so slightly waxy Hand Balm.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Hands, it turned from an incredibly thick and balmy yet ever so slightly oily Cleansing Balm into a thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Hand Balm that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds..
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hands feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left them smelling of delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly zesty Orange for at least twenty minutes after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short and thin conical Plastic Tube with a screw top Lid that fitted really easily into my Pocket.

My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate The Body Shop Spiced Orange Hand Balm a nine out of ten, and The Body Shop Wild Pine Hand Balm an eight out of ten. I really liked The Body Shop Spiced Orange Hand Balm, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and spicy yet ever so slightly zesty Orange scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had smelt a little bit more of Orange.
