It’s the first Monday of the month everyone, which means that it’s time for another Shine The Spotlight, but instead of me sharing five amazing Blogs with you, this month I thought that I would highlight five very worthwhile Charities that could really do with your support.
First up has to be, Disabled Children’s Partnership.
With over an estimated 800,000 Children currently living with some kind of a Disability in the UK, Disabled Children’s Partnership and their coalition of more than 90 Charities could really do with your support to help Disabled Children, young people and their Families live a life full of opportunities by campaigning for improved Health & Social Care, providing advice and support, and raising awareness of multiple different Children’s Disabilities in the UK.
Next up has to be, Dogs For Disabled.
With an estimated 650,000 people in Ireland living with a Physical Disability, Dogs For Disabled could really do with your support to improve the lives of Children and Adults living with a Physical Disability by using their unique Assistance Dog Stability Program to provide Physically Disabled people with an Assistance Dog, supporting their Dogs from birth to retirement, running an Ethical Breeding Program, working with the Irish Prison Service to train their Dogs, and spreading awareness of Physical Disabilities throughout Ireland.
Next up has to be, Yorkshire MESMAC.
With there currently being an estimated 1,200,000 LGBT people living in Yorkshire, Yorkshire MESMAC could really do with your support to offer Free, rapid and confidential HIV testing, Condoms and Lubricant, Consultancy, Counselling, Information & Resources, Meeting Rooms and Training Spaces, outreach to the commercial Gay scene including Cruising Areas and Public Toilets, support for individuals and community groups, and training across Leeds, Rotherham, York, North Yorkshire and Hull.
Next up has to be, ManKind .
With there being an estimated 750,000 Men who experienced some kind of Domestic Violence last year in the UK, ManKind could really do with your support to help provide direct help and support for Male Victims of Domestic Abuse and Domestic Violence by running a Helpline that’s manned by trained professionals, providing support services and information to Statutory Agencies, Professional Organisations and the Voluntary Sector, raising awareness of Male Domestic Violence in the UK, and calling for adequate services and recognition at National and Local levels.
The last and final Charity for this months very special Shine The Spotlight has to be, Shelter.
With there being an estimated 280,000 people currently effected by Homelessness in the UK, Shelter could really do with your support to offer anyone who is effected by Homelessness or is about to lose their Home advice through their Helpline, Online Advice Pages, Web Chat Service and Face to Face Support Service, offer Legal Advice and help Offenders with things such as Homelessness, exploring options on how people can find, keep or improve their Home, offering advice on Evictions and Finances including Universal Credit and affordability issues, and even offering advice on disrepair issues including Damp and Molde in their Home.
That my friends, brings us to the end of another Shine The Spotlight.
