It’s the first Monday of the month everyone, which means that it’s time for another Shine The Spotlight, but instead of me sharing five amazing Blogs with you, this month I thought that I would highlight five very worthwhile Charities that could really do with your support.
First up has to be, Sky Badger.
With over 800,000 children currently living with some kind of a Disability in the UK, Sky Badger could really do with your support to help young Disabled people and their Families live a life full of adventure by offering information about things such as Benefits, Education, Holidays and free stuff, Technology, Disabled Grants and Finances, legal issues, Medical issues, and even personal support via their very knowledgable and supportive online Help Desk.
Next up has to be, Miracle’s Mission.
With our Pets being a massive part of our lives, Miracle’s Mission could really do with your support to offer a place of safety for Animals in danger, educate on the need of neutering both Pets and Strays, neuter both Stray Cats & Dogs to prevent the birth of more Animals on the Streets, and even rehabilitate and re-home Cats and Dogs in need, many of which who are disabled, from their UK rescue base in Carlisle.
Next up has to be, LGBT Foundation.
With there currently being an estimated 3.6 Million LGBT people in the UK, LGBT Foundation could really do with your support to offer face to face counselling, support groups, a helpline, email and pop-in service, a befriend scheme, a Sexual Health program, a Substance misuse project, organisational training, a range of guides and resources, a national Website advice Surgery, LGVT infrastructure support, policy campaigning, and even various research projects to create a fair and equal society for all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people.
Next up has to be, Woman’s Aid.
With an estimated 1.6 Million Women aged 16 to 74 who experienced some kind of Domestic Abuse last year, Woman’s Aid could really do with your support to help survivors of Domestic Violence, call on the Government to tackle the causes and consequences of Domestic Abuse, provide almost 300 local lifesaving services to Women and Children, train people to understand and respond effectively to Domestic Violence, conduct research projects, and even work with Schools, local communities and Football Clubs to help finally put an end to Domestic Abuse.
The last and final Charity for this months very special Shine The Spotlight has to be, St. George’s Crypt .
With there being an estimated 400 people currently effected by homelessness in Leeds, St. George’s Crypt could really do with your support to offer 24/7 emergency housing for Men and Women who are either Homeless or Sleeping Rough, a hot Shower for anyone in need, hot Food for their residents courtesy of their Catering team, a Wellbeing service including access to GPs, Physiotherapists, Dentists and other Health providers for their residents, a Drug & Alcohol rehabilitation program, Housing solutions for some of the most vulnerable and marginalised communities in Leeds, and even activities, support and training to enable people to become independent so that they’re no longer living on the Streets of Leeds.
That my friends, brings us to the end of another Shine The Spotlight.
