Shine The Spotlight | Turning The Spotlight Back On | Charities Edition 2020 To 2022

It’s the first Monday of the month everyone, which means that it’s time for another Shine The Spotlight, and as part of my 10 years celebration of Shine The Spotlight, I thought that as well as me highlighting some of my favourite Blogs from the past ten years that are still around and still going strong, that I would also highlight some of my favourite Charities that i’ve highlighted over the past ten years and that could still really do with your support.

Anyway, that’s enough of me rambling, here’s five of my favourite Charities that I highlighted between 2020 and 2022.

First up has to be, ManKind.

With there being an estimated 750,000 Men who experienced some kind of Domestic Violence in the UK last year , ManKind could really do with your support to help provide direct help and support for Male Victims of Domestic Abuse and Domestic Violence by running a Helpline that’s manned by trained professionals, providing support services and information to Statutory Agencies, Professional Organisations and the Voluntary Sector, raising awareness of Male Domestic Violence in the UK, and calling for adequate services and recognition at National and Local levels.
Next up has to be, Autistic Parents UK.
With an estimated one in thirty-six Children in the UK being diagnosed as being Autistic, Autistic Parents UK could really do with your support to help the Parents of any Child who’s on the Autism Spectrum by offering online Peer Support Groups, monthly Webinars, live Q&A sessions, monthly Book giveaways, local Peer Support Groups, volunteer-lead one to one Support Sessions, and training and professional supervision.
Next up has to be, Bird Line.
With an estimated 400,000 Pet Birds abandoned in the UK each year, Bird Line could really do with your support to help educate people in the welfare of Bird Keeping, provide a refuge to orphaned, unwanted and injured Parrots or Parakeets regardless of their species, and find Foster and Forever Homes for all of the beautiful and intelligent Birds that they rescue.
Next up has to be, Miracle’s Mission.
With our Pets being a massive part of our lives, Miracle’s Mission could really do with your support to offer a place of safety for Animals in danger, educate on the need of neutering both Pets and Strays, neuter both Stray Cats & Dogs to prevent the birth of more Animals on the Streets, and even rehabilitate and re-home Cats and Dogs in need, many of which are disabled from their UK rescue base in Carlisle.
The last and final Charity for this months Shine The Spotlight has to be, Shelter.
With there being an estimated 390,000 people currently effected by Homelessness in the UK, Shelter could really do with your support to offer anyone who is effected by Homelessness or is about to lose their Home advice through their Helpline, Online Advice Pages, Web Chat Service and Face to Face Support Service, offer Legal Advice and help Offenders with things such as Homelessness, exploring options on how people can find, keep or improve their Home, offering advice on Evictions and Finances including Universal Credit and affordability issues, and even offering advice on disrepair issues including Damp and Molde in their Home.
That my friends, brings us to the end of another Shine The Spotlight.
