One of my favourite days of the year definitely has to be Pancake Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday, as I adore seeing all of the cool, quirky and just down right weird Pancake Toppings that everyone comes up with. That’s why when I had heard that Bird & Blend Tea Company had released a Pancake Day 2026 collection, that includes Blueberry Pancakes, Caramelised Banana Pancakes, Maple Bacon Pancakes, and Strawberry & Nutella Pancakes, I obviously had to pop down to my local Bird & Blend Tea Company store and check everything out. Well after checking everything out, I eventually picked up a Pouch of Caramelised Banana Pancakes Loose Leaf Tea, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

It’s brewing time.

It said that you were supposed to brew this for four minutes at 100ºC, which I thought was the perfect amount of time, as whenever I brewed it for any less I thought that it tasted incredibly weak and basically just tasted of really sweet Water, and that whenever I brewed it for any longer that it tasted extremely sour and just tasted of Liquorice and Fenugreek.

It’s taste.

I absolutely loved it’s taste, as even though it contained Rooibos, Cocoa Nibs, Liquorice, Fenugreek, Freeze-dried Banana, and Natural Flavouring, I thought that it had a delicious fruity and creamy yet ever so slightly malty Banana Pancakes taste to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had blended up a massive Stack of Pancakes topped with some Slices of Banana and Butterscotch Sauce.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a massive rectangular resealable Paper Pouch which meant that all of the Tea Leaves stayed extremely fresh and didn’t lose any of their delicious flavour.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Bird & Blend Tea Company Caramelised Banana Loose Leaf Tea a nine point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s brewing time, it’s delicious fruity and creamy yet ever so slightly malty Banana Pancakes taste, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was part of their main range, as when I eventually run out of it i’m going to be quite sad.
