One of the things that makes Autumn definitely my favourite season of the year, has to be all the gorgeous smells that the cooler air brings with it, and as always Yankee Candle have released their Autumn range, The Harvest Time collection, to make my home smell as great as the outdoors. The collection contains four incredible scents that include, Rhubarb Crumble, Honey Clementine, Ebony & Oak , and Autumn Night, and being the candle addict that I am, as soon as I heard that they had released the range, I obviously had to pop down to my local Love Aroma and give everything a sniff, and pick something up. Well, I didn’t just pick something up, I picked up the entire range, and after burning them for a little while now, I thought I would tell you what I thought of them.
Here’s what Yankee Candle say about their four incredible smelling Autumn fragrances.

Rhubarb Crumble… Straight from the oven, warm flavours of tangy Rhubarb with Vanilla and Brown Sugar are undeniably delicious,. Rhubarb Crumble also combines Apples, Rhubarb, Raspberries, Brown Sugar, and Vanilla, to create a truly warming fragrance.

Honey Clementine… Refreshing Orange takes a sweet turn in this citrus dipped delight. Honey Clementine also combines Orange Peel, Clementine, and Honey, to create a sweet yet citrus fragrance that everybody will love.

Ebony & Oak… Woody, Oak, Pine, and Ebony, make an elegant forest fragrance with subtile touches of Eucalyptus and Patchouli. Ebony and Oak also combines Pine Bough, Eucalyptus,Ebony, Lavender, Oak, Cedarwood, and Patchouli, to create the fragrance of a forest in your home.

Autumn Night… The Autumn evening invites with brisk earthiness and dreamy interludes of Lavender and woodland notes. Autumn Night also combines Bergamot, Grapefruit, Black Peppercorns, Lavender, Maple Lead, Vetiver, and Oak, to create the feel of walking hand in hand in a brisk Autumn’s night.
I really liked the Yankee Candle Rhubarb Crumble, as it reminded me of one of my favourite Yankee Candles, the Yankee Candle Tarte Tatin, as it was incredibly rich, creamy, and extremely sweet, but unlike Yankee Candle Tarte Tatin, It had a sour note in the form of the Raspberries, and I unfortunately didn’t think it worked. It didn’t make me think, ah that’s the smell of a Rhubarb Crumble coming out of the oven. It was perfect as a fruity, food scent, but it unfortunately made me think of a fruit tart, and not of Rhubarb Crumble.
The scent throw of this was a little disappointing, as it was one of those scents that you only noticed once you had gone out, and came back into the room, and I think I would have loved it a lot more if it had a stronger scent throw. I’m not usually a food scents lover, but if i’m going to try one, I want it to make me want to rush out to the shop and buy whatever the scent is supposed to be in food form, and unfortunately this didn’t make me want to do that.
It says that you’re supposed to get 150 hours of burn time out of this, but as I always kept my wick trimmed, I easily got about 180 hours out of this.
The Yankee Candle Honey Clementine, had to be my favourite scent out of the entire range. It was extremely sweet and fruity, but The only problem was that I thought it would have been better as a Spring or Summer scent, as it smelt so much of Oranges, that you could smell it from across the room when it wasn’t lit, and to me, Oranges are more of a Spring or Summer scent. But that’s just my opinion..
The scent throw of this was intense. Not only did it fill my room within about fifteen minutes, but it also filled the entire upstairs of my house with it’s sweet yet fruity scent within about fourty five minutes, and you could even slightly smell it when you went downstairs, which I thought was fantastic.

I actually quite liked the Yankee Candle Ebony & Oak, as it’s incredibly woodsy scent made me think of wandering through the woods when the leaves are just starting to fall off of their branches. I also thought that the Eucalyptus added a nice fresh yet masculine touch to the overly woody scent. I don’t usually go for any kind of masculine scents, but I think Autumn is the perfect time to try scents that I wouldn’t usually try..
The scent throw of this was ok. It did fill the room, and I did notice it without having to go out and come back into the room again, but it took quite a long time to do so, and I would have preferred it to fill the room much quicker.

The Yankee Candle Autumn Night, had to be my least favourite of the range. It was ok, but I didn’t think the Bergamot and Lavender really worked together. It was nice, but it wasn’t really for me. I do think the description kind of summed it up brilliantly, as it did remind me of walking in the crisp Autumn’s air, but as I said, it just wasn’t for me.
The scent throw of this was brilliant as it filled the room with it’s delicate scent within about twenty minutes, and it wasn’t at all overpowering. I couldn’t really smell it from outside my room though, but because it was so delicate, it did make me warm to it a little, not enough to love it, but enough for me to want to burn it.
It says that you’re supposed to get 150 hours of burn time out of this, but because I again kept my wick trimmed, I easily got 180 hours out of this.
Overall I would have to rate the Yankee Candle Rhubarb Crumble, a seven out of ten, the Yankee Candle Honey Clementine, a nine out of ten, the Ebony & Oak, a seven out of ten, and the Autumn Night, a six out of ten. I really liked the Yankee Candle Rhubarb Crumble, but as I said, it would have been better if they hadn’t included the Raspberries. As I said, I loved the Yankee Candle Honey Clementine, but I think it would have been better if it was included in a Spring or Summer range. The Yankee Candle Ebony & Oak wasn’t something I would have usually gone for, but I rather liked it’s fresh woody masculine scent, and as I said, the Yankee Candle Autumn Night was ok, but it wasn’t really for me.

I’ve tried the Autumn Nights one and quite enjoyed it. I really like the sound of Ebony and Oak as I like the smell of patchouli a lot. I think I would like the clemantine one too, I do think of autumn with the smell of oranges because we always buy our clemantines around this time. Once upon a time it was the only time you could buy them in this country, but seasonal fruit seem to be a thing of the past now.
I like the sound of Ebony & Oak the best, the thought of Autumn leaves with the candle lit and a fire burning make me imagine a very cosy room.
