Last week, both me and Jamie went to see Anastacia perform her Not That Kind Tour at the York Barbican, and after having an absolutely amazing time, I thought that I would tell you all about it.
Firstly, I just have to say that her Support Act, Casey McQuillen, was amazing, as I loved that she performed a really good mix of her own Music, including some really personal and emotional Ballads, some great upbeat Songs, and even a few rockier Songs that got the entire Arena in the mood for the rest of the evening.

Her entrance of One Day In You’re Life was amazing, because as well as it being full of Base and particularly heavy on the Drums so much so that it shook the Floor, it also got everyone in the mood for the rest of the evening.
She of course performed Paid My Dues, Sick And Tired, Left Outside Alone, Not That Kind, and I’m outta Love, which I thought were all amazing.
Her more Ballad-like Songs were also outstanding, as she performed Heavy On My Heart, You’ll Never Be Alone, Secrets, Welcome To My Truth, and a very emotional How Come The World Won’t Stop where she told us the meaning behind it.
I also really liked that she managed to include something from each of her Albums, including Overdue Goodbye from Freak Of Nature, I Can Feel You from Heavy Rotation, Sweet Child O’Mine from It’s A Man’s World, Boxer from Evolution, and even Best Days and Now Or Never from her latest Album Our Songs.
Another thing that I really liked was all of the Audience interaction, as every so often she would talk to the Audience about the meanings behind some of her Songs, what she’s been up to over the past twenty-five years, and even Politics in both the UK and USA.,
All of her performance was amazing, but I really liked that she finished off with an A Capella version of Left Outside Alone where she encouraged us all to join in, as I thought that it brought the Show to a brilliant end.
This was just a few of my favourite moments from the evening, but she also performed a whole lot more, and I of course was singing, clapping and generally rocking out to it all. My Voice and Throat actually hurt quite a lot the next day, but I guess that’s just the result of a fantastic evening.
I am absolutely thrilled to have seen her perform live again, and if you can still manage to get your Hands on some Tickets, I highly recommend that you go see her as she’s incredible!
