One of the reasons that I love shopping at Arthur J Hawke so much definitely has to be that they always have some kind of a promotion on offer, whether that’s a discount, a free Beard Oil, or a free Gift Set as it means that I get to try some amazing Beard Care Products that I wouldn’t have usually ordered. That’s why when I ordered a Bottle of their Starburst Beard Oil a couple of weeks ago, they also very kindly threw in a Tin of their Chocolate Bourbon Beard Balm and a Tin of their Custard Creams Beard Balm for me to try. Well i’ve been using them both for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

The Arthur J Hawke Chocolate Bourbon Beard Balm.

One of our popular Biscuit flavoured Balms, our Chocolate Bourbon Beard Balm is one of our popular essences. Along with our Custard Creams Beard Balm, both flavours remind you of sneaky trips to the Biscuit Barrel as a Child.

Specially formulated with Mango, Shea and Cocoa Butter, we can ensure a strong hold to keep stray Hairs in place. This also prevents the itchiness associated with Beard Growth by calming inflamed areas. We also harness the moisturising properties of Argan Oil, often regarded as liquid Gold, for it’s coveted blend of nutrients and Vitamins, to soften and tame unruly Facial Hair, which also encourages Hair Growth.

How to use.

Take a small amount and warm between your Fingers before massaging into your Beard. Made from the finest ingredients, some of our products may contain Allergens, so please do a small Patch Test 24 hours before application

The Arthur J Hawke Custard Creams Beard Balm.

Our sweet Custard Creams Beard Balm comes in a 50ml pot and is made with shea, mango & cocoa butter. As a perfect complement to our Chocolate Bourbon Beard Balm, this fragrance is one of our more subtle smells and is fantastic for day-to-day wear.

We use Candella Wax to ensure a natural hold, whilst our blend of oils condition, nourish and repair the Hair and calm the Skin irritations associated with Beard Growth. Scented with our Custard Creams fragrance, this wonderful Balm will keep your stray Whiskers in place all day long. By softening and taming unruly Facial Hair, our specialty formula encourages Hair Growth through our use of Argan Oil, which is often referred to as “liquid Gold, for its desirable blend of nutrients and Vitamins. We also use fragrance oils, both amazing for your Skin, also bringing you the sweet scent of Custard Creams.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, Candella Wax, Hazelnut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Castor Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Fragrance, I thought that it had a delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly biscuity Dark Chocolate scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had dunked an entire Packet of Bourbon Biscuits into a Mug of very strong Black Tea.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Beard Balm, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and waxy yet ever so slightly creamy, and was more like an incredibly thick and waxy yet ever so slightly creamy Styling Wax rather than a thick and balmy yet ever so slightly waxy Beard Balm.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had scooped some of it out of it’s Tin and had started to massage it into my Beard, it turned from an incredibly thick and waxy yet ever so slightly creamy Styling Wax into a thick and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Beard Balm that spread really easily through my Beard.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Beard feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, bouncy, thicker, fuller, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking a lot shinier, kept it in place all day and left it smelling of delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly biscuity Dark Chocolate for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Metal Tin with a screw top lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

The Arthur J Hawke Custard Creams Beard Balm.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, Candella Wax, Hazelnut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Castor Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Fragrance, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly biscuity Vanilla scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured a massive Jug of freshly made Vanilla Custard over an entire Packet of Custard Creams.

It’s consistency.

What it did when I used it.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, bouncy, thicker, fuller, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking a lot shinier, kept it in place all day and left it smelling of delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly biscuity Vanilla for hours after I had used it.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Metal Tin with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Arthur J Hawke Chocolate Bourbon Beard Balm an eight point five out of ten, and the Arthur J Hawke Custard Creams Beard Balm a nine out of ten. I really liked the Arthur J Hawke Chocolate Bourbon Beard Balm, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and chocolatey yet ever so slightly biscuity Dark Chocolate scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had smelt a little bit more of Dark Chocolate. I really liked the Arthur J Hawke Custard Creams Beard Balm, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly biscuity Vanilla scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it hadn’t smelt so strongly of Vanilla, as even when I applied the smallest amount possible in my Beard, it was pretty much the only thing that I could smell all day.
