One of my favourite scents of all time definitely has to be Violet, as it always reminds me of the Palma Violet Sweets that I used to eat as a child. That’s why when I had heard that Lush had released a Daddy-O Shampoo and a Sugar Daddy-O Pressed Conditioner that both claim to smell of Violet, I obviously had to hop on to their Website and pick them both up. Well i’ve been using them for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Lush say about both incredible smelling products.

The Daddy-O Shampoo.

Daddy-O works to add volume and shine to your Hair. It’s the Lemon and Lime Juice which allow the Cuticles to lye flat and reflect more light, helping the Hair to shine. We’ve created an infusion from Toothed Wrack Seaweed and Lemons, that cleanses and softens. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil hydrates the Hair, whilst Fine Sea Salt gets to work by softening and giving body to your Hair. What makes this extra special is that it can revive your Silver and Blond tones.

The Sugar Daddy-O Pressed Conditioner.

Don’t be a shrinking Violet, brighten Blond and Silver Locks with this toning Solid Conditioner. Sitting opposite Yellow on the Colour Spectrum, Violet neutralises brassy tones that naturally build up over time.

Not just for lighter Hair, shine enhancing Fresh Lemon Juice flattens the Hair Cuticles, helping it to catch the light for a gleaming finish. Moisturising Argan and Jojoba Oil deliver thirst aid to bleached or coloured tresses, while Agave Syrup thickens the Hair to add bounce. As you work Sugar Daddy-O between your Hands it’s vibrant Violet and Bergamot fragrance is released, infusing each strand with this head-turning scent.

Benefits.

• Neutralises brassy tones and brightens the Hair with the colour Violet.
• Brings moisture back to chemically treated Hair with opulent Argan Oil.
• Strengthens strands using Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

How to use.

Hold this Bar under the warm Water for a few moments then work between your Hands to release this Conditioner from it solid form. When it’s reached a creamy consistency, massage directly onto Wet Locks, adding as much product as you desire. Focus on the mid-lengths and ends of the Hair then rinse away for Hair that looks on the bright side.

This product is deliberately pigmented in order to tone the Hair, so use carefully and rinse Surfaces immediately after use.

How to store.

To enable this Solid Bar to dry between uses, place this heavenly hydrator somewhere away from Water. If you’re travelling you can pop it in a Pot or a Tin, just be sure to let it dry out before you tuck it away.

The Daddy-O Shampoo.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Fresh Lemon and Toothed Wrack Seaweed Infusion, Fresh Sea Water, Fresh Lime Juice, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Violet Leaf Absolute, Rose Absolute, Bergamot Oil, and Cananga Oil, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and floral yet ever so slightly grassy Violet scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had crushed up an entire Packet of Palma Violet Sweets.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Shampoo, I thought that it felt incredibly thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy, and was more like an incredibly thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Facial Oil rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Shampoo.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Hair, it turned from an incredibly thin and oily yet ever so slightly creamy Facial Oil into a thick and frothy Shampoo that spread really easily through my Hair. I also noticed that I only had to use a very small amount of it to cover all of my Hair, which given that it isn’t that cheap, was fantastic.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hair feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking much brighter, shinier, extremely volumised and healthier too. I also really liked that it left it smelling of delicious sweet and floral yet ever so slightly grassy Violet for hours after i had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Clear Plastic Bottle with a Clickable Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

The Sugar Daddy-O Pressed Conditioner.

It’s scent.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Guar Gum, Argan Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Violet Leaf Absolute, Rose Absolute, Bergamot Oil, Cananga Oil, and Organic Agave Syrup, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and floral yet ever so slightly powdery Violet scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had crushed up an entire Packet of Palma Violet Sweets.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had held it under some Water and had started to massage it into my Hair, it created an incredibly thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy lather that spread really easily through my Hair. I did however notice that I had to add a little bit more Water to it to make it cover all of my Hair though, but given that it was a Solid Conditioner, that was to be expected.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hair feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, bouncy and intensely moisturised, but it also left it looking much brighter, shinier, extremely volumised and healthier too. I also really liked that it left my Hair smelling of delicious sweet and floral yet ever so slightly powdery Violet for hours after I had used it.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Lush Daddy-O Shampoo a nine point five out of ten and the Lush Sugar Daddy-O Pressed Conditioner a nine out of ten. I really liked the Lush Daddy-O Shampoo, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and floral yet ever so slightly grassy Violet scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had smelt a little bit stronger and that it was also available as a Shower Gel. I really liked the Lush Sugar Daddy-O Pressed Conditioner, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and floral yet ever so slightly powdery Violet scent, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wish that it was a little bit easier to get hold of as it’s unfortunately only available online.
