Whenever my Skin is having a little bit of a meltdown and is full of Blemishes, I absolutely love to smother it in some kind of Charcoal Mud Mask and leave it to work it’s magic whilst I get on with doing something else. That’s why when I saw that Lush had released a Prince of Darkness Fresh Face Mask that claims to contain a blend of Fuller’s Earth and Charcoal to leave you with soft and balanced Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

A Charcoal Clay Mask.
How to use.
Smooth a generous layer of this Mask on to your Face and leave for ten to fifteen minutes and let the ingredients get to work before washing off gently with Warm Water. Pair with other mattifying products such as our Breath of Fresh Air Toner Water.
How to store.
This wickedly Fresh Face Mask definitely needs to be stored in the Fridge and used within 28 days.
It’s scent.
I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Glycerine, Kaolin, Fuller’s Earth, Water, Powdered Charcoal, Labdanum Resinoid, Patchouli Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Lavender Oil, Fine Sea Salt,Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool, Citral, and Fragrance, I thought that it had a delicious deep and earthy yet ever so slightly medicinal Lavender scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you Plant a Lavender Tree.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Fresh Face Mask, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous Pot of Chocolate Pudding rather than a thick and gloopy yet ever so slightly balmy Charcoal Face Mask.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gelatinous Pot of Chocolate Pudding into a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Charcoal Face Mask that set within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, matte, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for at least 24 hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Black Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Lush Prince of Darkness Fresh Face Mask a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and earthy yet ever so slightly medicinal Lavender scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had also contained a little bit of Salicylic Acid so that it could have combatted some of the Blemishes that I had instead of just tackling my Oily Skin.
