It’s the first Monday of the month everyone, and you know what that means, yes! It’s time for another Shine The Spotlight, but this time, all the blogs i’m going to talk about all have something to do with Guide Dogs , wether that’s fundraising for a guide dog, raising a puppy that will one day go on to help a blind or visually impaired person in their daily life, or they actually have a guide dog themselves. Anyway, that’s enough of me rambling, let’s begin.
Karl Denning, is ran by Karl, aguide dog speaker, disabilities advocate, and guide dog owner from Dudley, Birmingham. Karl’s blog is full of posts about him, his family, his life, and of course his beautiful guide dog Quasia. I love all of Karl’s posts because they’re all extremely personal, but the one that I really love is his Refused Access post in which he talks about the top three places that have refused both himself and Quasia from entering. If you’re looking for some great personal posts about a guide dog owner, and his gorgeous Guide Dog, then Karl Denning is for you.
Sam Heaton, is ran by sam, a severely partially sighted mum of two, Guide Dogs volunteer, campaigner, and guide dog owner from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. Sam’s blog is all about current affairs, her life with her gorgeous guide dog Tango, and raising awareness about disabilities. If you’re after a great read from an extremely intelligent woman, who really knows her stuff, then Sam Heaton is for you.
John Churcher, is ran by John, a visually impaired Paraclimber, and disabilities advocate from Birmingham. John’s blog is all about his life being a Paraclimber, the competitions he competes in, fitness, and of course the conditions he suffers from. If you’re after some brilliant climbing posts from a truly inspirational guy, then John Churcher is for you.
The Big T1, is ran by Torie, a runner and guide dog owner from Northern Ireland. Torie’s blog is full of just about everything from book reviews and raising awareness about being visually impaired, to yoga. If you’re after a blog full of just about everything, from an amazing woman, then The Big T1 is for you.
The last and final blog for this months Shine The Spotlight has to be, William Elliot .
William Elliott, is ran by William, a blind blogger, film maker, and guide dog owner from California, but he’s originally from the UK. William’s blog is full of reviews, helpful tips about social media and the internet, and of course posts about his life. If you’re after some extremely helpful tips about social media, and just general visually impaired life, then William Elliott is for you.
That my friends, brings us to the end of this very special Shine The Spotlight. If you can, please donate to Guide Dogs, as it takes £50,000 to raise a guide dog, and with one person going blind every hour, they need all the support they can get.

Hi Luke. Thank you for the kind words and agreeing to feature me in your blog. I really do appreciate it. I am not yet a runner, mainly a walker, but i am in the process of, slowly, trying running. I still haven’t made my mind up yet as to if i like it or not though :).
You might want to look at my guide dog blogs though although they are a while back now. It may give you a flavour of what to expect from guide dog ownership. I know at the start, i wanted to read everything guide dog related at first 🙂
