My Body Smells Anything But Basic! | The Body Shop Vanilla Range

When The Body Shop relaunched themselves, one of the main things that I thought was really cool was that as well as them releasing some new scents like Ajwa Date & Honey, Velvet Fig & Pistachio, and White Tea & Elderflower, that they also rereleased some of their older and beloved ranges like Dewberry, and Spa Of The World. That’s why when I had heard that they had rereleased their Vanilla range, I obviously had to pop down to my local The Body Shop store and check everything out. Well after giving everything a good sniff, I eventually picked up a Bottle of the Vanilla Bath & Shower Gel, a Tub of the Vanilla Body Butter, and a Tube of the Vanilla Hand Balm, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what The Body Shop say about all three delicious smelling products.

The Body Shop Vanilla Bath & Shower Gel.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, Sodium Chloride, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Sodium Gluconate, Benzophenone-3, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Hydroxide, CI 14700/Red 4, CI 19140/Yellow 5, and CI 42090/Blue 1, I thought that it had a delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly musky Vanilla scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you use a Blowtorch to caramelise the Sugar on top of a Crème Brûlée.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Bath & Shower Gel, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery Gel Body Lotion rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Bath & Shower Gel.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly watery Gel Body Lotion into a thin and gelatinous yet ever so slightly frothy Bath & Shower Gel that spread really easily across my Body.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it smelling of delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly musky Vanilla for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a tall cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a clickable Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

A short cylindrical Silver Metal Tin with a silver metal lid and a dark Green label that has The Body Shop Vanilla Body Butter written in bright white writing, some pictures of some small creamy white Vanilla Flowers, and some pictures of some dark Brown Vanilla Pods on it, on a white background.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Body Butter, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Body Cream rather than a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly gloopy Body Butter.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Body Cream into a thick and creamy yet ever so slightly oily Body Butter that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left it smelling of delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly musky Vanilla for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Tub with an Aluminium screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Hands feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, soothed, plump, bouncy, hydrated and intensely moisturised, but it also left them smelling of delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly musky Vanilla for at least twenty minutes after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short and thin conical Aluminium Tube with a screw top Lid that fitted really easily into my Pocket.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate The Body Shop Vanilla Bath & Shower Cream an eight out of ten, The Body Shop Vanilla Body Butter a nine out of ten, and The Body Shop Vanilla Hand Balm an eight point five out of ten. I really liked The Body Shop Vanilla Bath & Shower Cream, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly musky Vanilla scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had smelt a little bit more of Vanilla. I really liked The Body Shop Vanilla Body Butter, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious sweet and creamy yet ever so slightly musky Vanilla scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it was also available as a Body Yoghurt for when I want to use something that feels a little bit lighter.
