Even though I absolutely loved using The Ordinary Salicylic 2% Anhydrous Solution, as I really liked how clear and hydrated it left my Skin feeling, I unfortunately found that it tended to leave my Skin looking and feeling a little bit on the greasy side for at least ten minutes after I had used it. That’s why when I had heard that The Ordinary had finally released the reformulated version of their Salicylic Acid 2% Solution that claims to leave you with clearer looking and hydrated Skin as well as being a lighter formula, I obviously had to hop on to their Website and pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

An exfoliator for Blemish-prone Skin.
Our Salicylic Acid 2% Solution is formulated for all Skin types, including those prone to congestion and Blemishes. This light formula removes Dead Skin Cells that can contribute to clogged Pores, providing Skin clarity with continued use over time.

How to use.
Apply once a day in the Evening. Apply a small dot to the targeted area or apply a small amount all over the Face for general use. Do not use on sensitive, peeling or compromised Skin. Avoid the Eye Contour and contact with Eyes. Patch Testing prior to use is advised.
It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Saccharide Isomerate, Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Salicylic Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Polysorbate-20, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, and Chlorphenesin, I thought that it had a very deep and musky yet ever so slightly medicinal Cardboard scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured an entire Bottle of Tea Tree Oil on to a piece of Cardboard.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Salicylic Acid Solution, I thought that it felt incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous, and was more like an incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Hyaluronic Acid Serum rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Salicylic Acid Solution.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Hyaluronic Acid Serum into a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Facial Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, matte, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for hours after I had used it.,
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Glass Bottle with a Rubber Pipette Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution an eight point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very deep and musky yet ever so slightly medicinal Cardboard scent. I also wish that it had contained some kind of calming ingredients, like Aloe Vera Extract, Niacinamide, or maybe even Witch Hazel Water to calm my Skin down a little bit after I had used it.
