One of my vices in life definitely has to be my major Sweet Tooth, as I absolutely love anything that contains Sugar like Chocolate and Sweets. That’s why when the guys over at The Ubiquitous Sweet very kindly asked me if I would like to try one of their Pick ‘N’ Mix Sweet Hampers that contains a range of over 150 different delicious Pick ‘N’ Mix Sweets, I of course said yes. Well i’ve been munching my way through it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.
What is The Ubiquitous Sweet?
The Ubiquitous Sweet, is an online Pick ‘N’ Mix Sweet Shop that offers a range of over 150 different delicious Sweets ranging from old Fashioned Sweets like Dolly Mixture, Rhubarb & Custard and Cola Cubes, to Jelly Sweets like Jelly Orange Slices, Terrific Turtles and Yellow Belly Snakes, and even Lollies like Dobson’s Mega Lollies and Drumstick Lollies. They also cater for anyone who’s Vegan or Gluten and Lactose Intolerant, which means that everyone can enjoy all of their delicious Sweets.

The Dobson’s Salted Caramel Mega Lolly.
I absolutely loved this, as it was essentially just a block of Solid Salted Caramel on a Stick that I thought tasted really sweet and creamy, I also really liked that even though it tasted really sweet and creamy, that it also had a decent amount of saltiness to it which meant that it didn’t taste overly sweet.
The Drumstick Lollies.
I really liked these, as I thought that they had a delicious sweet and creamy Raspberry & Vanilla taste to them that kind of reminded me of drinking a massive Glass of Raspberry Milkshake. I also loved that they weren’t too soft or too chewy, which meant that I could basically eat them in one go.
The Apple & Cola Millions.
I thought that these tasted absolutely delicious as I haven’t eaten Millions in years, and in fact didn’t actually know that they had any other flavours apart from Strawberry or Bubblegum. But I thought that the Apple ones were amazing and tasted just like I had bitten into a massive perfectly ripened Apple, and that the Cola ones tasted like I had just downed an entire Glass of really fizzy Cola.
The Jam & Milk Chocolate Nibbles.
I really liked these as they were really tasty and were perfect as a little treat after Dinner. I also thought that the Jam ones had a very strong Strawberry taste to them that strangely kind of reminded me of the Strawberry Delight Chocolates from a Tub of Quality Street, and that the Milk Chocolate ones tasted really sweet and creamy. I did however thing that the Milk Chocolate ones had a very strange almost Coffee aftertaste to them though, which was a little bit weird.
The Yellow Belly Snakes.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of these, as even though they were supposed to have some kind of a fruity taste to them, I thought that they just tasted of Sugar. I’m also much more of a fan of Jelly Sweets rather than Foam ones so that might also have something to do with why I didn’t really like them.
The Terrific Turtles.
I really liked these, as I thought that they had a delicious sweet and fruity Bubblegum taste to them that kind of reminded me of the aftertaste of a piece of Hubba Bubba Bubblegum. But again, as I much prefer Jelly Sweets rather than Foam ones, I just preferred some of the other Sweets in my Hamper.
The Jelly Pineapples.
I really liked these, as even though i’m not usually a massive fan of anything that tastes of Pineapple, apart from actual Pineapple or Pineapple Juice, I thought that these had a really fresh and fruity yet ever so slightly sour Pineapple taste to them that kind of reminded me of a Pineapple Ice Lolly. I did however notice that they had a very strange almost grassy aftertaste to them though, which was a little bit weird.
The Sugar Jelly Letters.
I think that these had to be my least favourite of the entire Hamper, as even though I thought that they had a great sweet and sugary Sherbet taste to them, they unfortunately weren’t really that memorable.
The ABC’s.
I thought that these were fantastic, as unlike most of the other Sweets that were included in my Hamper, these were a Hard Sweet instead of being a Jelly Sweet so they had a really nice amount of crunch to them. I however still couldn’t tell you what flavour they were supposed to be though, as some had a really sweet and fruity almost Sherbet taste to them and others had a really nice creamy taste to them.
The Sour Apple Slices.
These were amazing as I absolutely love anything that tastes of Apple, and even though they were called Sour Apple Slices, I thought that they tasted really sweet and fruity and also had an almost floral after taste to them that kind of reminded me of eating a freshly picked Apple.
The Jelly Lemon Slices.
These probably had to be one of my favourite Sweets of the entire Hamper, as I thought that they had a delicious sweet and citrusy yet ever so slightly tart Lemon taste to them that kind of reminded me of sucking on a slice of Lemon. I also really liked that even though they were coated in a thick layer of Sugar, that they were really sweet and sugary rather than being so sour that I couldn’t eat them.
The Jelly Orange Slices.
These had to be another one of my favourite Sweets from the entire Hamper, as I thought that they tasted really fresh and citrusy and was basically like I had just bitten into a really sweet and citrusy piece of Orange. I also really liked that like the Jelly Lemon Slices, they were also coated in a thick layer of Sugar that made them taste really sweet and sugary rather than being so sour that I couldn’t eat them.
The Cola Bottles.
I really liked these, as even though Cola Bottles usually have a very subtile Cola taste to them, I thought that they tasted like I had just downed an entire Glass of very sweet and fizzy Cola.
The Gold Bears.
I had to be really careful with these, as Gold Bears are one of my favourite ever Sweets and I tend to get really addicted to them. In fact, I once went through a one kilogram Tub of them in a fortnight. But these were really tasty, especially the Cherry ones as they’re really hard to find.
The Sour Twin Cherries.
These were fantastic and really delicious. The Haribo Happy Cherries are another one of my favourite Sweets so I was really happy to try a Sour version, and even though i’m not usually a massive fan of anything that tastes sour, I thought that they just had a really fizzy taste to them rather than being tongue curlingly sour.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as everything came individually wrapped in little Plastic Bags securely tied with little bits of Elastic and lots of Ribbon inside a beautiful Wicker Basket. The Wicker Basket was also wrapped in a massive sheet of Plastic and then tied with even more beautiful Ribbon. I did however think that if you have any problems with your Hands, that you might have a little bit of difficulty opening everything as it took me quite a few tries plus a pair of Scissors to eventually get into everything.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate The Ubiquitous Sweet Pick ‘N’ Mix Sweet Hamper a nine out of ten. I really liked that you could pick from a list of over 150 different Sweets, it’s beautiful packaging, and that I thought that it would make the perfect Gift for anyone who has a massive Sweet Tooth, but I just wish that they were a little bit easier to get hold of as they’re unfortunately only available on Social Media at the moment.
