One of my main criticisms when I tried The Chocolate Smiths Cakes Contour Cherry Bakewell Collaboration Bar was that given that it was called a Cherry Bakewell Collaboration Bar, that it unfortunately didn’t taste that much of Cherry. That’s why when I saw that they had released a Cherry Bakewell Inspired What D’ Yee Want Wednesday Bar that claims to taste just like a Cherry Bakewell whilst I was scrolling through Instagram a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been munching my way through it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

It’s taste.
I absolutely loved it’s taste, as even though it contained Caramelised White Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Sugar, Whole Milk Powder, Milk Sugar, Whey Powder, Skimmed Milk Powder, Caramelised Sugar, Soya Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Flavouring, Salt, Almond Ganache, White Chocolate Ganache, White Chocolate, Double Cream, Reconstituted Skimmed Milk Powder, Palm Kernel Oil, Water, Palm Oil, Modified Maize Starch, Castor Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Almond Flavouring, Cane Sugar, Dextrose, Fructose, Cherry Puree, Sour Cherry, Pectin, Flaked Almonds,E471, E322, E435, E 415, E331, E340, and E160A, I thought that it had a delicious deep and fruity yet ever so slightly nutty Cherry Bakewell taste to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had blended up an entire Packet of Cherry Bakewell Tarts into a massive Bowl of Cornflakes.
It’s texture.
I really liked it’s texture, as I thought that the Cherry Gel felt really silky smooth whilst still being ever so slightly gelatinous, that the White Chocolate Almond Ganache felt very buttery and smooth, that the Caramelised White Chocolate felt really buttery whilst also still being incredibly crunchy, and that the added Toasted Almonds gave a very nice crunchy finishing touch to everything. I also really liked that the Toasted Almonds were basically just bits of crunchy Dust instead of being massive chunks of Almonds, as even though I love Almond flavoured things, i’m not really a massive fan of Almonds themselves.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came wrapped in a massive piece of Tin Foil inside a really thick Paper Wrapper that kept the Bar really fresh until I was ready to eat it.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate The Chocolate Smiths Cherry Bakewell Inspired What D’Yee Want Wednesday Bar an eight point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and fruity yet ever so slightly nutty Cherry Bakewell taste, it’s texture, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had tasted a little bit more of Cherry. I also think that it should have been labelled as a Cherry Cornflake Tart Bar rather than a Cherry Bakewell Inspired Bar.
