A nice deep Cleanse is always the first step in my Skincare Routine, but with my skin going haywire and becoming incredibly dry, rough and Blemish-prone lately, it’s been extremely difficult to find a Cleanser that can actually deal with all of my Skin’s different problems. That’s why when I saw that Garnier had released a SkinActive Gentle Hydrating Deep Cleanser that claims to leave you with silky soft, nourished and clearer-looking Skin whilst I was scrolling through Superdrug’s Website a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

It’s scent.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Glycerin, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Coco Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodiumm Chloride, Niacinamide, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hydroxide, 2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol, Kaolin, Coconut Acid, Propylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Citric Acid, Polyquaternium-53, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Benzoate, Salicylic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, and Chlorphenesin, I thought that it had a very strange deep and creamy yet ever so slightly musky Yoghurt scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured an entire Pot of Natural Yoghurt over a massive Block of Charcoal.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Hydrating Cleanser, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly runny, and was more like an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly runny Moisturising Lotion rather than a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly balmy Hydrating Cleanser.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly runny Moisturising Lotion into a thin and creamy yet ever so slightly frothy Foaming Cleanser that spread really easily across my Face.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, refreshed, plump, bouncy, moisturised and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.
It’s packaging.
I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s packaging, as even though this came in a tall rounded rectangular Plastic Bottle with a Pump Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves, I found that it’s Pump Lid tended to get stuck every couple of uses, and then when it did eventually work that it dispensed far too much product so that I felt like I was wasting quite a lot of it.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Garnier SkinActive Gentle Hydrating Deep Cleanser a seven point five out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and creamy yet ever so slightly runny consistency, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and creamy yet ever so slightly musky Yoghurt scent or that it’s Pump Lid tended to get stuck every couple of uses.
