Even though they can sometimes be a little bit controversial, I absolutely love it whenever Aldi releases something from their Lacura Skincare range, as it means that I get to try some very luxurious inspired Skincare that I wouldn’t have otherwise tried at a really affordable price. That’s why when I saw that they had released a Hydrating Gel Serum that claims to be inspired by the Elemis Superfood Cica Calm Hydration Juice whilst I was doing my Weekly Food Shop a couple of weeks ago, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

I absolutely loved it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Glycerin, Glycereth-26, Propanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trideceth-9, Fragrance, Allantoin, Bitter Orange Fruit Water, Cucumber Fruit Water, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice Powder, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Benzophenone-4, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acidd Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Golden Kiwi Fruit Extract, Mandarin Fruit Extract, Cucumber Fruit Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Irish Moss Extract, Spearmint Leaf Extract, Tiger Grass Leaf Extract, Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Coral Strands Algae Extract, Citric Acid, Polysorbate 20, Bergamot Fruit Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, CI 19140, and CI 42090, I thought that it had a delicious deep and zesty yet ever so slightly grassy Bitter Orange scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent you smell whenever you open a massive Bottle of Orange Juice.
It’s consistency.
I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Gel Serum, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy Gel Cream Moisturiser rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Gel Serum.
What it did when I used it.
I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly creamy Gel Cream Moisturiser into a thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Gel Serum that sank into my Skin within a matter of seconds.
It’s results.
I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, refreshed, matte, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant and much healthier for hours after I had used it.
It’s packaging.
I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a Pump Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.
My overall thoughts.
Overall I would have to rate the Aldi Lacura Hydrating Gel Serum a nine out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s delicious deep and zesty yet ever so slightly grassy Bitter Orange scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but given that it was called a Hydrating Gel Serum, it would have been nice if it hadn’t of left my Skin feeling so matte.
