The Ingredients Of A Great Blemish-Fighting Cleanser | Boots Ingredients Salicylic Acid Cleanser

I don’t know if it’s because of the change in Weather, stress or just hormonal, but i’ve been breaking out all around my Mouth and Nose lately, which means that i’ve been on the lookout for anything that can get rid of my Blemishes as well as calm down and hydrate my Skin. That’s why when I saw that the Boots 24 Days Of Skincare 2025 Advent Calendar contained a Tube of the Boots Ingredients Salicylic Acid Cleanser that claims to leave you with squeaky clean, silky soft, hydrated and clearer-looking Skin whilst I was scrolling through their Website last year, I obviously had to pick it up. Well i’ve been using it for a little while now, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of it.

A tall and wide conical light pink plastic tube with a black plastic lid that has Boots written in bright white writing and Ingredients Salicylic Acid Cleanser written in bold black writing on it, on a white background.

Here’s what Boots say about their Ingredients Salicylic Acid Cleanser.

)Our Ingredients Salicylic Acid Cleanser deeply cleanses your Skin of Dirt, Oil and Make-Up while removing excess Oil from Pores. This BHA Facial Cleanser and Face Wash leaves Skin looking visibly less oily without feeling dry.

Features.

  • Contains Salicylic Acid to target excess Oil.
  • Non-drying formula maintains Skin comfort.
  • Suitable for daily Facial Cleansing Routines.

How to use.

Apply a small amount into your Hand and massage in circular motions on dampened Skin, splash with Warm Water to rinse and pat dry.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Decyl glucoside, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Salicylic acid, PEG-120 methyl glucose dioleate, Cocamide MEA, Sodium chloride, PEG-150 distearate, Sodium hydroxide, Allantoin, Sodium benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Citric acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, and Zinc PCA, I thought that it had a very strange deep and metallic yet ever so slightly zesty Salicylic Acid and Copper scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had poured some Salicylic Acid over a massive piece of Copper Piping.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Cleanser, I thought that it felt incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily, and was more like an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily Jelly Face Mask rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly gelatinous Cleanser.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily Jelly Face Mask into a thin and frothy yet ever so slightly oily Cleanser that spread really easily across my Face.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly squeaky clean, silky soft, smooth, refreshed, matte, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant, clear and much healthier for hours after I had used it. I also really liked that it didn’t manage to irritate the Patches of Eczema that I get underneath my Eyes.

It’s packaging.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s packaging, as even though this came in a tall conical Plastic Tube with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves, because of it’s incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily consistency, I found it really hard to get any of it out of it’s Tube and would have preferred it if it had come in some kind of a Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Boots Ingredients Salicylic Acid Cleanser an eight out of ten. I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thick and gelatinous yet ever so slightly oily consistency, what it did when I used it, and it’s results, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and metallic yet ever so slightly zesty Salicylic Acid and Copper scent. I also wish that it had come in some kind of a Plastic Tub with a screw top Lid instead of in a Plastic Tube with a screw top Lid so that it was a little bit easier to use.
