The Ingredients Of Budget Skincare | Boots Ingredients Range

After I had tried some of the Superdrug Me+ range that claims to rival some of my favourite The Ordinary products by focusing on a single ingredient, I thought that I would also try some of the other many single ingredient Skincare ranges that are currently on the market, as even though I absolutely love  The Ordinary, most of the products that I use on a daily basis are unfortunately becoming increasingly harder to get hold of. That’s why when I had heard that Boots had released an Ingredients range that claims to focus on ingredient lead Skincare and allows you to personalise your Skincare Regime with  Cruelty Free and Vegan products at an affordable price, I obviously had to pop down to my local Boots store and checkk everything out. Well after checking everything out, I eventually picked up a Bottle of the Glycolic Acid Toner, a Bottle of the Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and a Bottle of the Vitamin C Serum, and I thought that I would tell you what I thought of them.

Here’s what Boots say about all three amazing products.

It’s scent.

I really liked it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Betaine, Phenoxyethanol, Glycolic Acid, Peg-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, and Tocopheryl Acetate, I thought that it had a delicious fresh and watery yet ever so slightly floral scent to it that kind of reminded me of if someone had soaked some dead Leaves in a massive bowl of Rain Water.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Glycolic Acid Toner, I thought that it felt incredibly thin and watery, and was more like an incredibly thin and watery Micellar Water rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Glycolic Acid Toner.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had poured a little bit of it on to a Cotton Wool Round and had started to swipe it across my Face, it turned from an incredibly thin and watery Micellar Water into a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Glycolic Acid Toner that set within a matter of seconds.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, cleansed, bouncy and intensely hydrated, but it also left it looking extremely glowing, radiant and a little bit brighter for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a screw top Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Chlorphenesin, Carbomer, Allantoin, Methylparaben, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Peg-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, and Tocopheryl Acetate, I thought that it had a very strange deep and nutty yet ever so slightly sweet Vegetable Oil scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent of a Pan full of some old Sunflower Oil that’s been used to cook some Chips in.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Hyaluronic Acid Serum, I thought that it felt incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gloopy, and was more like an incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gloopy Facial Serum rather than a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Hyaluronic Acid Serum.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gloopy Facial Serum into a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Hyaluronic Acid Serum that instantly sank into my Skin.

It’s results.

I absolutely loved it’s results, as not only did this leave my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, plump, bouncy and intensely hydrated ,but it also left it looking extremely glowing and radiant for hours after I had used it.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a Pump Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

It’s scent.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s scent, as even though it contained Water, Glycerin, Peg-12, Dimethicone, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Ppg-26 -Buteth-26, Sodium Citrate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Peg-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Chlorphenesin, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Aloe Vera Juice Extract, Bisabolol, Disodium EDTA, Maltodextrin, Potassium Sorbate, and Sodium Benzoate, I thought that it had a very strange deep and nutty yet ever so slightly sweet Vegetable Oil scent to it that kind of reminded me of the scent of a Pan full of some old Sunflower Oil that’s been used to cook some Chips in.

It’s consistency.

I really liked it’s consistency, as even though it was called a Vitamin C Serum, I thought that it felt incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly creamy, and was more like an incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly creamy Gel Cream Moisturiser rather than a thin and watery Vitamin C Serum.

What it did when I used it.

I really liked what this did when I used it, as once I had started to massage a little bit of it into my Skin, it turned from an incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly creamy Gel Cream Moisturiser into a thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy Vitamin C Serum that instantly sank into my Skin.

It’s results.

I wasn’t really a massive fan of it’s results, as even though it left my Skin feeling incredibly silky soft, smooth, bouncy and intensely hydrated, it unfortunately didn’t really leave my Skin looking any  brighter which is what i’m essentially looking for when I use a Vitamin C Serum.

It’s packaging.

I really liked it’s packaging, as this came in a short cylindrical Plastic Bottle with a Pump Lid that looked beautiful sat on my Beauty Shelves.

My overall thoughts.

Overall I would have to rate the Boots Ingredients Glycolic Acid Toner an eight out of ten, the Boots Ingredients Hyaluronic Acid Serum an eight out of ten, and the Boots Ingredients Vitamin C Serum a five out of ten. I really liked the Boots Ingredients Glycolic Acid Toner, as I absolutely loved it’s delicious fresh and watery yet ever so slightly floral scent, it’s consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wish that it had contained a much higher percentage of Glycolic Acid as I think that my Skin needs a much higher percentage of Glycolic Acid to do anything long term. I really liked the Boots Ingredients Hyaluronic Acid Serum, as I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly gloopy consistency, what it did when I used it, it’s results, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and nutty yet ever so slightly sweet Vegetable Oil scent. I really liked the Boots Ingredients Vitamin C Serum, as I absolutely loved it’s incredibly thin and watery yet ever so slightly balmy consistency, what it did when I used it, and it’s packaging, but I just wasn’t a massive fan of it’s very strange deep and nutty yet ever so slightly sweet Vegetable Oil scent, or that it didn’t really leave my Skin looking any brighter.
